I've been toying with some fiction where the United States goes to war with Russia (and China and Iran) and wins the mainly conventional war. As part of the peace terms, Russia has to cede their territory East of the Yinisey River to the Pacific Ocean. The U.S. plans to divide this new territory into several states and admit them to the U.S. What would the resulting states look like and what would be their borders?
LOL. My, what a fantasy life you have. In the real world, there would be no world left to speak of after nuclear armageddon.
Its hard to say. Would it mostly just be russians that now moved to the new US territories that were formerly russia? I think its quality fiction and has potential. Maybe some handmaid's tale viewing would give you inspiration (not the twisted stuff they do but how the land regions changed)
The U.S. destroys most of the Russian and Chinese nuclear weapons in a first strike. Our ABMs handle most of the rest.
If he’s the one writing the work of fiction he described, he can’t be wrong. It’s his story. Author’s prerogative.
I've even got the approximate death tolls worked out for each of the participants in the war. Including 500,000 Americans and a total of 18 million world wide (led by China).
