I don't get it. I grew up in the typical sense, sitting around listening to the men in the family talk about sports and different players, always a game on TV, always a get together for major events like the Super Bowl/etc. But I've NEVER been able to get into it. I can think of an endless number of things I'd rather do than watch a ball game or talk about a related topic. I absolutely do not see what it is that the rest of you find so enthralling about football, baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, etc. What am I missing? What is it that has you folks arguing with each other and yelling at the TV? Seriously, what's so awesome about these sports that you'd waste your time... uh hem, pardon me... what's so awesome about these sports that you'd waste... oops... that'd you'd voluntarily spend an infinitesimally small portion of your short life dedicating your time towards the viewing or discussion of these things?
I never got it either.... many people seem to like it though, maybe they get a feeling like I get when someone falls on cement and scuffs their hands, only they get excitement in that same way from the thrill of a man tackling another man, or when a person scores a goal, maybe it makes them feel as though they themselves did, don't know .
Whats the point of any sport, if you are looking at it the way you are, just about all sport is pointless.
Some sports I get, ball sports I do not. That's why I'm wondering what it is that people like so much about them.
We probably like them for the same reasons you like the sports you do, they just interest us. I like football because I played. I love football because I coached it. for me, its the closest thing to group combat i will ever see.
Well then, let me introduce you to actual group combat
Now that's what I'm talking about! There's also several Renaissance groups that have mass sword fights. Tried to find the vids for South Pole but couldn't find em.
I feel the same way. I suppose it is because I find more enjoyment in singular sports that challenge the self, one of the reasons I really like the one person luge. I would rather challenge myself at something than watch ball sports on TV. I used to hang glide and I can tell you it stirs the blood more than any sport on TV. Though, one of the most boring sports is The Americas Cup but I enjoy that because I like sailing.
I like the performance aspect. Real athletes are something to behold. I also like the kinship aspect of team sports. Former teammates are still among my best friends. I also like the humbling aspects of sports, and the honesty. Non-athletes tend to be demanding little weasels.
No and no. But, Subaru does make excellent vehicles, and I do wear sandals/flipflops whenever possible.
