What's with all the chickenhawks who never even served in the military service, attacking and calling Ron Paul dangerous to our national security, isolationist etc.?
Romney, Santorum, Gingrich, Bush, Clinton etc. all these chicken craps never even served in the military, and how come our LIBERAL CON media never noticed that??? LMAO. chicken hawks and their gun totting patriots are absolutely meaningless - they stood by while tens of millions of American families had their homes reposessed by the banks that got bailed out by the same exact government who sent us to fight for national security in the middle east. meaningless. one of us can take out hundreds and thousands of so called gun totting poop *****. God bless America and down with the chicken hawks.

Since when is national military service a requirement to have an opinion on military policy?

    Isn't that undemocratic?

It's one thing to have an opinion on foreign policy but it's quite another to be war zealots without any intention to serve in the military or having ducked the draft.

Most are older folks who do not question MSM and are Ignorant to peace and prosperity. Fat men who are lazy. They are cowards who send other peoples children to thief deaths.

Pride prevents them from questioning the statas quo and is what motivates them to vote blindly for big government tools to do thier bidding.

Their day can't end fast enough.

Serving in the military doesn't give you any additional insight on foreign policy.

Well I would argue otherwise but what isn't debatable is military men have skin in the game. It's easy to say "we should do this, we should do that," when you'll (the general you'll) be on a sofa watching it on television. It's a little like the welfare class saying the wealthy don't pay their fair share when they don't pay anything.

Bring back a draft during war time and let's see how many people still want to participate in military adventurism.

I agree with much of what Ron Paul states, but I can't agree with your argument. I've never been a police officer and I wouldn't want to switch my current job to be one. However, I still believe that we need a police force. That doesn't make me hypocritical

I agree that it's easier to call for war when you know you won't be the one at risk, but I don't think having (or not having) military experience makes a candidates stance any stronger or weaker.

I don't think it would take any military experience to know what to do after Pearl Harbor.

How well did that work for Korea and Vietnam?

Should you advocate the fire dept. risking their lives to fight fires if you are not willing to join a dept. yourself?

    Same principal.

My understanding is he got a dishonorable discharge which he got reversed when he was a Senator and had power to pressure the military.

I disregarded his military service because I felt his political positions were opposed to a strong U.S. military.

His opposition to the war in Iraq (IIRC) was also a factor.

I don't care if someone has 30 years of military service in combat after volunteering and has been awarded 10 Bronze Stars and 3 Medals of Honor.

I'm not taking their opinions on the military seriously if it conflicts with what I believe is best and what I've read and studied from various other sources.

I don't get surgery on the word of a doctor alone.

I'm not voting some way regarding foreign policy on the word of a soldier alone.

No. Kerry was discharged honorably I'm certain. No reason to diminish his service.

And they all ignore the fact that Perry was a pilot for the Air Force. He served his country quite well. Never mind the fact that he doesn't pretty talk like the rest of them, he would be good as president.

I know, I know, let all the infantile insults commence on Perry.

Sure it does.....its the Commander-In-Chief.....military experience carries great credibility......which is why I support Captain Ron Paul......

....sometimes the best military experience......is knowing what not to do.

If you're not willing to put out a fire in your own home, then you shouldn't ask anyone to do it on your behalf.

What if the fire isn't in America? Should the US fire department be called upon to put it out? I don't think anyone would question the use of military if the US was attacked. People sign up to defend their nation after all. Its foreign adventures to try to solve other people’s problems like Iraq that Ron Paul and others are against. If people wanted the US fire department to put out fires overseas and people in the fire department were against it I would listen to them over anyone outside the department.

The U.S. has vital national interests in virtually every corner of the world. When those interests are threatened then it threatens to weaken the United States.

You can't defend the U.S. at our borders anymore than a football team can defend their own goal line if they continually allow the other team to have the ball on the 3 yard line.

I also assume that extends to medical conditions.

If you are not willing to take a crack at taking out your childs appendix yourself then you should not call upon a doctor to do it.

    No it's not.

The wars here are pointless and were based on false information.

So it would be more like the government starting fires, then sending in firefighters to die for a pointless fire. Sure, they volunteered to serve but did they volunteer to die for something that easily could have been prevented and was unnecessary?

How was the Iraq war defending America? They are a tiny little nation with absolutely no force projection capabilities beyond their region. There are only a small number of nations who have the force projection capability to threaten America with their military and most are allies. All would lose badly in a war against the US. The only way for most outside forces to harm the US is through asymmetric warfare and this kind of war can't be fought by standing armies because all you need are box cutters and the will to kill yourself in the attack. Security forces and intelligence agencies are the main method of fighting it rather than standing armies.

Nobody is risking their life on your behalf in this case.

My point is this: If you think fighting a war is so important, then you ought to fight in it yourself. I don't see why any principled individual should have a problem with that.
