I also have relatives in Quebec just north of Champlain NY where they work. They have insurance through their American employer and until the ACA enjoyed much better care here in the US. They still carry their insurance here because as bad as it is it's still better than Canada's.

Maybe it's a matter of the province. Quebec may be different as it is notoriously rebel.

I noticed something, your list of awesome things America has done ends almost exactly when radical liberalism begins, coincidence???

    No it wasn’t.

Single payer systems are proven superior to ours. They provide better care than we do, at a fraction of what we pay. We will have it in the near future. You’re going to love it.

I agree. Single payer is proven better and cheaper.

Nonsense. American health care delivery hasn't been number one (if ever) for a very long time. You don't slip into 25th place overnight. Your post is just an opinion piece based on no facts.

Neither have any relevance to quality of care. Your baseless denials don’t make the data go away. Single payer is proven superior to ours. It provides better care at a fraction of what we pay.

Nor do the charts. For instance one of them is amenability of care to prevent death. Very few people in Western Europe are ever more than a few minutes from the nearest ER. There are a lot of people in the US that even given life flight services are more than an hour away from the nearest ER. When seconds count hours can kill you. But your chart makes no mention of that.

Tulsi is my candidate. She is not an ideologue. She wants to spend money on defense, not regime change wars. She understands that Netanyahu is an obstacle to peace in the mideast as much as the Hamas is. Back to the prior levels of taxation on the rich that allowed the middle class and the rich to gain wealth at the same level. Spend 1/2 of the 6 trill that we spent in the mideast in infrastructure improvements, American jobs with american supplies. Foreign aid to central americans in central america and not in Chicago. Elimination of criminal penalties for drug use. Back up paper ballots. Does not think that all republicans are bad people- thinks that some democrats are.

Sorry Gary but you don't know what you are talking about. Europe has just as good or better healthcare for roughly half the price.

She is impressive but not nearly radical enough for today's Democratic Party.

They don't have out of control lawsuits in Europe, Dems won't change that, attorney's are their big backers.

That is certainly one part of the problem. I agree that the Establishment (Red or Blue) is unlikely to change anything as both are backed by an army of Lawyers. Its a pay to play system.

If you only look at data after 2008 I'd agree with you. My claim is also not about the business end of the system but quality which was the best by far. Here in Massachusetts alone 7 hospitals are on the list of best in the world. " You don't slip into 25th place overnight", the VA went in the toilet during the Obama years, prior to that I can attest to the superior care the VA provided. Both of my parents were WWII veterans, as they aged the both developed health problems and at the time veterans and families were entitled to VA care. I don't know if that is still the case. Both of my parents had significant health issues that were treated in a timely manner in facilities that for profit hospitals could not compete with in terms of quality.i My mother required surgeries that in a normal setting would have run hundreds of thousands I don't believe they ever received a bill for anything. When the VA scandal broke in 2014 I was shocked, this was not the VA I knew.

We can’t do anything great because the Democrats have loaded the federal budget with income redistribution schemes, leading to heavy debt.

We don’t have the money or flexibility to do fun stuff like go to Mars.
