It's nice to have a little levity in the news for a change. Fortunately there are pictures, otherwise the Roy Moore crowd would tell us this is just a bunch of Navy pilot-haters making up a story that the anti-Navy media is conspiring to share with us. First-person accounts simply can't be trusted, we're told. http://komonews.com/news/local/whid...er-after-drawing-penis-in-sky-over-washington Personally I hope the Navy goes easy on these guys. It was funny, and takes some aeronautical talent to fly the pattern right. Do you think they should be punished?
Of course they shouldn't be punished. Hoss Cartright's hat in the sky isn't a punishable offense. The people who should be punished are the idiots who immediately thought, "hide the chillins and wimmens."
They should have gone with the hat response and accused everyone else of having their minds in the gutter.
Don't know how the pilot(s) could have thought it was a good idea... I think being grounded for a little while is a good idea. Give them a bit of a hit to the wallet, then forget about it. They have to get some punishment. They were unprofessional and their conduct reflected badly on the Navy and all military pilots.
Granny says, "Dat's right - 12 year-old kids not s'posed to see sumpin' like dat... Navy Grounds Whidbey Crew After Lewd Skywriting Incident 18 Nov 2017 | The Navy has grounded the two-man aircrew and is apologizing for their "irresponsible and immature act."
While it's funny, it's also immature ans childish. Pilots are officers and they're supposed to be leaders. Allowing this type of childish behavior from the leadership breeds more of it and shows their subordinates that it's acceptable, when it isn't. So the flight crew should be punished for conduct unbecoming of an officer. The rest of the hyperbole is just unnecessary. Knight
