Why no news about Taiwan? Why no headlines about Chinese military movements? Surely there is SOMETHING going on.

Democrats have too much invested in China to let the cat out of the bag.

No important news. China has promised to annex Taiwan and hasn't changed its mind. It is waiting for the best time to do it.

im guessing China will make their move after Putin does whatever he is going to do. The world will have a hard time reacting to 2 crises at once, and likely won’t have the stomach to deal with both.

Taiwan is probably better off without an obsessive focus from the ignorant western media. Ukraine probably would be too.

We can easily engage and defeat both at the same time.

Our foreign enemies are demonstrating they are as talented at wrecking the USA as our liberal domestic enemies.

I couldn't care less about Taiwan or Ukraine being better off. I am concerned that keeping the US in the dark certainly does not make US better off.

because there is no news, china claim taiwan since their civil war in 1940s. they can wait another 20 or 30 years to get it back. its not like taiwan can pack up and move.

e are seeing a very new and aggressive stance from China. Combat aircraft overflights. Buildup of amphibious capabilities. This is NOT "business as usual" for China and Taiwan.

thats because DPP in charge, during KMT admin. relation was warmer, beside i think the overflight gonna become routine from now on. probably lesser when KMT in charge more when DPP in charge but they are not gonna invade taiwan anytime soon. in 96 they fire missile off the coast, its a show to remind taiwan not to go independent. china is not stupid they know they gonna lose alot economically if they invade. in 20-30yrs, taiwan economy gonna have huge dependency on china, which give china alot saying in their relationship. right now 45% taiwan export is to china, and thats when both are in a cool period.

"They are not going to invade Taiwan anytime soon."???? Do you get that with a crystal ball? Tea leaves? Do you hear voices? The Pentagon is revamping its entire Pacific strategy because of China's aggressive actions against Taiwan. You should let Lloyd Austin know.

look, if you think china gonna invade them soon, thats ur belief, i dont. but dont hold your breath. china can always bid their time and wait for the right moment. they much prefer use economic pressure against taiwan. war is not good for their economy.
as for pentagon, how else we justify the $1T defense budget. pentagon is more worry about china future navy expansion to guam etc. but hey wait another 5 years then come back talk about it taiwan. ill bet its still there.
btw china overflight near taiwan started in 2015 after KMT lose ;) its been going on for 6+yrs.

What level security clearance do you have to be able to make such statements with such certainty? What level access? You seem to predict the future with certainty with little or no classified information. That's not healthy.

dude all you need is a some common knowledge on china and a good common sense. either way, why dont you wait another 5 years and see what happen. if china want to invade taiwan, there will be huge mobilization more so than russia/ukraine. once they did that, then post it on here. ppl been saying china will invade taiwan since 2015, it never did.

I know a little about China. West Point taught me how to speak Mandarin. West Point also taught me about the way nations prepare for war. In the years to follow I learned about how to be in a war and how enemies think and feel. Taiwan will be attacked. Exactly how soon is not in my ability to determine. But it will be soon. Take look at pictures of Berlin in 1945, Hiroshima after the bomb, Manila in 1942. War is bad. But for thousands of years, for thousands of reasons, it has proven to be inevitable.

So...what exactly does Taiwan pay you to say that? Are you paid by the word? Or paid to say such things on retainer?

To be honest, seizing Taiwan is a lot harder than seizing Ukraine.
You have all that water to deal with, similar to the problem Germany had in 1939 with England.
You need to get a lot of troops onto the island very quickly.
And Taiwan is heavily defended, and has powerful friends in Japan and USA.

Some have suggested that China taking Taiwan will have the same effect on America as Germany
invading Poland had on England and France. We don't know - and it's that uncertainly which will
    effect Chinese decisions.

Doesn't need to, as Tzu wrote in his 'The Art of War' that war is the last option.
So we have Chinese 'weather stations' with 'promises' to not militarize Sth China Seas islands
Then the 'fishermen' arrive, in hundreds of boats - some with PA army uniforms.
Then 'coastguards' arrive, 1,000 km from China
Then we have radars, missiles etc..
Then other fishermen, fishing in their own coastal waters, pushed out.
Then you need 'permission' to traverse these waters or use the air space

Sabre rattling, just like Russia in Ukraine. The defense industry needs another few trillion dollars.

You want a conspiracy? Russia and China are coodinating this with Lockheed/Boeing, Alma-Antey and AVIC.
