Large walls do surround most of the Vatican and have been there for centuries. They do not surround the entire Vatican just as the intended wall, or fence if you prefer, would not cover the entire southern border.

Yes, it could be mean (despite them often being rude) but it is becoming a serious problem. We can see countless Internet videos where older students don't know who won the Civil war, or can't even point out one country on a world map. Passing grades and diplomas are now as valuable as participation awards. We're entering a world where feelings are facts and opinion is knowledge.
