I can take pride in the content of my character, not the color of my skin. I do take pride in those of the human race who contribute to the world. I think that there are more positive people than negative people, and that's how we make slow progress toward a better world.
You can take pride in both achievements AND heritage. Blacks do it with Obama all the time, nothing wrong with it. I just don't understand all this baseness and lack of cultural pride. Since when did being proud to be nothing become some sort of higher moral virtue?

There was a time when PF mods would come down hard on any member who called another a racist. Apparently that's not true any more.
What is not right, is when one or many actually 'believe' they are superior to anyone as a result of their ethnicity. It's clear enough: We're all human.
Unfortunately white pride has a negative connotation since it has been used so much in the past to mean complete destruction of anyone who wasn't white. Black pride originated from a movement for blacks to not be thought of as lesser human beings, it was not about them segregating against anyone who wasn't black. So whenever I hear someone say they have "white pride", I immediately know they are a racist and they think whites are some "superior race".
That's politically correct anthropology, but the truth may be that there were different human species in Africa and the Whites were white even when they were stuck there.

I think working/middle class whites are becoming more hostile toward blacks. White people were once afraid to openly call out blacks for the social pathologies of the Black Underclass. Not any more. The best disinfectant is sunlight.
