And why is that?

 

Demographics

 

Anything that moves us closer to a direct democracy is a bad thing.

Democracy is a terrible form of government.

If you want to do something good for the cause of liberty, work to repeal the 17th Amendment.

 

With the shift of Hispanics and other minorities more toward the GOP the demographics will not be as you assume. For every rich white urban or inner suburb secular white young person going democrat there are exurban and rural people of color working and middle class who are theistic moving their way to the GOP.

 

The youth are the problem for conservatives
Not ethnicity

 

And when youth grow up, get married , and have their own kids they become more conservative. The democrat base is urban single people that never marry but May shack up eventually and never have kids. Fortunately red states and exurban/rural people are procreating at a far greater rate than secular Urbans are. And we are taking back our schools or educating our kids outside of progressives control.

Now that was an interesting exchange of views, respectfully conducted, and well worth reading. Would that we saw more of this sort of thing.
