Contrary to the popular misconception experiential learning is both terribly inefficient and often wildly inaccurate. We have recorded our civilization's knowledge for thousands of years for a reason

How about RW thugs who travel from place to place to serve as shock troops for RW candidates, pundits and other operatives

Soldier's functional lives consist of vast stretches of the most absolute boredom imaginable punctuated by moments of utter terror and often ending in excruciating pain. Soldiers are obedient servants until they are not, which is why they make poor slaves and the major underlying reason why slavery never works for long along with military governments

I once was watching a boxing match on HBO. Two of the commentators, George Foreman and Larry Merchant got into a disagreement concerning the fight. Foreman said, Larry there are two kinds of people that know about boxing. The kind that know about it from boxing (experience) and the kind that know about it from talking about it. To me, the point was well taken.

Trying to learn about life in a library is like trying to learn to swim without water, or learning to drive without a car, or learning to eat with a knife and fork just by reading about it... or learning about orgasms just by reading about them.

Military organizations do what the civilians tell them to do. And in 20 years in the Army, I was never bored. You obviously never wore the uniform. Stick to what you know best... gay rights and transgender issues.

Certain people of very low intelligence are immune to boredom. They also have a tendency to be gratuitously snarky when the situation does not call for it.

Which is why we let surgeons start operations with no study of anatomy and require engineers to build bridges on their first day in college.

Your childish insult is noted. "Snarky's Machine" was a great show.
Now, what has any of that to do with your demonstrated ignorance of the military?

Sorry, the last concert I went to was "The Irish Rovers"... I never heard of the "Proud Boys" or "Boogoloos". I'm not much into the music of youngsters.

What world do you live in where surgeons have no training and engineers have no qualifications? Are you posting from Rwanda?

I'm being facetious. I'm trying to point out that we don't learn everything by doing like you seem to imply would be best.

I love the Rovers, one of the few ethnic groups that regularly visit the mainstream charts.

    Read the article.

I never saw "Snarky's Machine" You're not conflating it with "CPO Sharkey"are you? That was a great show starring Don Rickles but I believe it was beat out by "McHales Navy" which was also on at the time

No, we don't learn everything by doing. We go to grammar school to learn basic skills so we can function in the world (reading, math, language, etc). We go to high school to learn some intermediate things like history we can glean some lessons from, how our government works, and more advanced things related to the basics. We go to college to learn much more advanced things, critical thinking, management skills to help us in life and specialized things of our choice.

But everything in school, at all levels, is not the end game unless you decide you want it to be and become a teacher. For most people, school is all about gaining the skills to live a full and productive life. Doctors study medicine not to simply educate themselves, but to treat patients and heal the sick. Lawyers learn their skills to see that laws are applied equally and properly. Engineers (I'm one of those) study so that we can conceive, design, build and test things that human beings use in their daily lives.

Education is preparation. And although it is tremendously valuable, it remains preparation for life. Not the execution of life.

You believe in what you write? .... It happens. Ostriches, for example, hide their heads in the sand.

No, ostriches do not do that. Clearly you don't understand inflation but that is your problem, not mine.

Only if it is paid by inflating the money supply.

Easiest way to cause runaway inflation is to give away free money to those that haven't earned a dime... like $450K to illegals.

But you forgot to mention that socialism has failed every time. No exceptions.
