Why are Asians so successful in racist America?

So much emphasis on those who fail and fall through the cracks in our society and so little on those who succeed. So why are these immigrants and children and grandchildren of immigrants outproducing almost everybody else? Are the white oppressors partial to almond eyes?

Perhaps there is something to be learned here.

1. Strong family ties-. 68% of American kids grow up in 2 parent homes. 84% of Asian kids grow up in 2 parent homes vs 77% for whites, 65% for Hispanics and just 37% for blacks.

There is reams of social scientific research that shows a direct correlation between having 2 supportive parents and greater affluence and less chance of crime and fewer drop outs.

2. Intelligence- Asians score highest on IQ tests and SAT tests. 4.3% higher on average than whites and 22% higher than blacks. The highest paying jobs are in fields that require an above average intelligence level. Stem and business. Asians dominate far beyond their numbers in the tech fields.

3. High academic expectations-Asian comedians joke about tiger moms and the demand for only academic excellence. Again it helps to have 2 loving and supportive parents.

4. Hard work.

5. Success is individualized. Most Asians see their success or failure in life as their responsibility vs relying on help from others or blaming others.

6. Not hostile to capitalism. Some Americans grow up hostile to capitalism and business and are taught for political reasons the system is unfair to them. Asians succeed in capitalist systems and are more likely to own businesses than other Americans.

This applies to first gen like every other minorities immigrating to a new country. Their kids and grandkids drop those values once they integrate into the mainstream.

 

Why would 6% of the people in our country have the rest of the country by the balls? So they are not American? WTF are you even talking about?

I think what the op is trying to get at is not all Asians are Chinese. So when he is talking about the success of Asian Americans he is talking about all Asian ethnicities, not just Asians of Chinese decent. Many American erroneously assume Asian and Chinese are synonymous.

 

Why are some groups listed as Americans and others listed as immigrants. Is the study tracking both non citizen immigrants and American citizens for each ethnicity?

 

Huh? I don't know what view you are calling a "lie" but what is it and how would this destroy it? Asian Americans certainly overwhelmingly believe racism is a problem.

Do you think that the fact that white people are doing ok in general "destroys" the view that white people are ever unfairly treated? If so, we can just allow any affirmative action laws we want to get black people ahead and it wouldn't be an injustice to whites.

 

I'm assuming it was taken from the census. Why would citizenship matter if they are legally here? A person with a green card can live here for the rest of their lives.

 

I’d check my facts if I were you. These values are enduring - at least in the Asians I’ve known.

 

The minority lie is that just because a person belongs to a group with smaller numbers they will automatically be oppressed and discriminated against by the majority. This is a lie because minorities all over the world are out achieving the majority. Colonialism is about a small number of people taking over entire countries or empires. Cortez took over the entire Aztec empire with 500 men.

The pigmentation lie is that lighter skinned people will automatically oppress and discriminate darker people which is also total bullcrap. Indian Americans have household incomes almost double that of whites.

As for how well whites are doing in America? One could argue that native born white Americans who are not children of immigrants are not doing well. Wages have been stagnant for a long time.

That's not addressing my point. Does the fact that whites are doing well relative to blacks mean that no white person is ever unjustly treated for being white?

Because if it does, that means that we can bring in as much affirmative action in favor of blacks as we like, without it being unjust to whites. And if it doesn't, then by the same reasoning, the fact that Asian Americans have been getting ahead doesn't show that they don't face discrimination.

 

The title of this thread has nothing to do whites being unjustly treated. I know it is the aim of democrats to make every single American feel like they are being crapped on.

Are Asians discriminated against? Sure. They are victims of black violence and they are being passed over in some graduate schools in favor of lessor qualified people.

The minority lie and the pigmentation lie are cornerstones of democrat party ideology and the excuse for black failure.

 

By the logic you are using to decide that there is no discrimination against Asian Americans, it's impossible to be unjust to a white person by giving affirmative action to blacks, no matter how extreme that affirmative action is.

I just said there is discrimination against Asians from white libs like you and blacks. Nobody is stopping them from being successful. Most people who hate Asians do so because they are successful.

 

No, for example #14 list Chinese Americans. Is there another entry for Chinese immigrants. #15 is Japanese immigrants. Is there also one for Japanese Americans?
