Why are white people pro-diversity?

Hmmmm, if that is the case how is it that Japanese-Americans were paid reparations for being locked in concentration camps during WWII by Pres. Reagan and conservative whites were ok with it. You were also ok with Jewish people being paid reparations for their treatment during the Holocaust, but your attitude changes dramatically when it comes black folks sojourn in America. Why is that?

Slavery and segregation was not just injustices that were done, they were allowed to go on by the Government of the United States not a group of individuals within the United States.

 

Well basically because there's a hell of a lot more of them and despite what some people think money for that comes out of taxpayers' pocket books. But if that's all it would take to get them to be less bitter and paranoid all the damn time then hell yes pay each and every citizen in this nation with a melanin count over a certain standard one million bucks tax free. I figure it would be worth the investment just for everyone's peace of mind.

Yes,m the government of the USA, not the whites. Therefore it makes sense they sue, or whatever, the government, and individuals who can be strongly liked, instead of a whole race.

 

In theory, I would agree with that. Slaves should have been compensated after the end of the civil war, but after the assassination of Lincoln those plans went to the wayside. At this point, I don't see how it could be done. The reparations for the Japanese and Jews were to specific individuals and their families that were effected. You really don't have anyone to compensate now.

Indeed. But iirc I think the children of holocaust victims were compensated, so something similar could be done for descendant of slaves.

It was a lot easier to prove that you were a child of a holocaust victim than it would be that you were a descendant of slaves. Oh plenty of people could do it, but you would have all sorts of situations that would be more unclear. Colin Powell, since he's the son of Jamaican immigrants, wouldn't qualify since his ancestors were not slaves in the US, but how much would Hallie Berry qualify? She's biracial so would she only get half a reparation? Lots of blacks in the US have white ancestry; would you prorate that?

Oh and it would have no effect on affirmative action. I can't see the groups who are getting the spoils giving up on that.

Whites in American are so used to being the majority that they cannot envision an America in which they're no longer the majority and need minority protections.
