Why aren't Democrat Senators as candidates for president removed from the Senate trial of Trump?

The DP bosses will do anything to rig the primaries against Sanders. The rest of the Senators are collateral damage.

If the situation were reversed, and it was a Democrat president facing a Senate impeachment-and-removal trial, you can bet the Democrats would be howling like banshees and raising holy hell about Republican Senators being able to cast 'remove' votes against that Democrat president!

Hypocrite, thy name is Democrat! If this completely unjust situation is allowed to stand, you can bet that it will come back to haunt Democrats for many, many years to come!

Trying to impeach a President during the 1st term of office, especially less than one year from the election, showed a complete disrespect if not a total disdain for the will of the public. Whether the candidate-Senators have an "extra" reason to vote for Trump's removal, they would have voted against him even if they weren't running. This hurt those candidates more than it hurts Trump, since Trump will be acquitted regardless.

And ultimately, you're right! All the rotten, subversive, deceptive, lying tactics notwithstanding, these House "articles" will be thrown out on their ears. But the wounds these Democrats are inflicting on Republicans, themselves, and everyone in the country will not heal for many decades. In all, Democrats will end up wishing that they had taken the more effective path of scolding Trump publicly with a House "Censure" (as Pelosi reportedly favored them doing), and slinging sh*t on Trump with impunity, from the relative safety of NOT having to produce impeachment charges with actual "CRIMES" in them, or any proof of crimes....

And yes, one day the situation will change, and Democrats will the ones "looking down a barrel". Oh... what a day THAT is going to be!

In times of utter confusion perhaps one of the more confused lunatics like AOC should be consulted and we can determine what is probably the logical path to choose by choosing the opposite of what such person advises

With his pencil neck, large overly head, and bulging eyeballs, there is not enough rock. But I do agree, he is a parrot.

LMAO...Let's get rid of the bootlicking republican cowards who are throwing their oaths of office under the bus to pander to your obese orange mobster.
That might leave about 4 repubs for the trial.

I'll agree that Trump jumpped the gun. He should have arranged this with AG Barr first, before bringing it up. I think it was a spontaneous topic for Trump. He was talking about Zelensky surrounding himself with some of the same corrupt people as his predecessor, and Trump just kept expanding his train of thought.

I saw Barr being interviewed, by NBC I think, and he was asked directly about the phone call, and whether he had opened any investigations into the firing of Shokin, and Barr said no. So even if Zelensky had followed up with Barr, he would have ended it all right there, cuz there was nothing going on to collaborate with.

The people are about to decide the ultimate decision on whether to keep Trump in office in the election this year, so we do not need the partisan Hose trying to influence the outcome. It's possible that the dems could drag out impeachment right up to, or even until after the Nov election.

I despise RINO's so much, Joe, that I quit the Republican Party as a member in summer 2017 after being a card-carrying member all my adult life!

That said, in the real world, there are often people you dislike but have to get along with, but, on the other hand, there are people who hate your f*cking guts and will destroy you and your way of life if they get a chance. In my view, then, there are RINO's, but on the other hand, there are radical, America-hating DEMOCRATS. This is war, Joe... a very real political civil war.

Example: in World War II we had to ally ourselves with the Soviet Union, which we feared and disliked greatly, in order to defeat Nazi Germany -- the far greater 'evil'. Thus, I'll take support from any RINO House member and Senator, because that is what is required in order to defeat our REAL enemies -- creatures like Schumer, Nadler, Schiff, and the rest of this dangerous "Enemy at the Gates"....

that is not the problem, the Problem is republican trying to suppress the witnesses and docs and working with Trump, I guess Trump asked them for a favor too

tell you what, if all the republican with conflicts of interest are removed, then I will agree to dem candidates being removed

any juror that voted for Trump should be removed too

if Trump did not want to help them defend themselves against Russia, he should not of signed the bill

Ukrane gave up their nukes cause the US promised to stand behind them, they did not want to give them up cause they feared Russia would invade them if they did

You ask a very good question.

The same could be said of 50 Republican Senators, although Sens. Susan Collins (ME), Mitt Romney (UT), and Lisa Murkowski (AK) are frauds. For the sake of the party they are playing the role of impartial jurors only interested in truth and justice. Then, when it comes to crunch time, when they have to actually commit to what they are saying, they will vote the party line.

We have seen it all before with these three.
