Watching and observing the RW propaganda media doesn't give you a "fair and balanced" view of what is going on, sorry to say.

But feel free to prove I'm wrong and quote any liberal here who has been calling for equalization of income and wealth.

    Right wing media.

So, the RW media is the RW media? Who is this mysterious RW entity? Please identify the RW media.

I can easily tell you who the LW media is. It's the government media complex as demonstrated by ABC, NBC/MSNBC, CBS, CNN, Bloomeberg. The New York Times, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, the Seattle Times, the SanFrancisco Chronicle. And on and on....

    1) Total failure of leadership, no doubt, at least from the perspective of most citizens. But are they really failing in the sense of their own purposes & ambitions? In other words, the chaos we see we can point to a failure of leadership, but they may see it as an opportunity to advance their own purposes and ambitions. Why else would we hear them say something akin to "we can't let a good crisis go to waste"? Bush didn't after 9/11. Obama didn't after he took office either. It's basically how we ended up with the huge stimulus and the ACA. I'm not arguing the pro's and con's of those specific policies, only stating the crisis mentality politicians used to advance them.
    2) Major disagreements aren't new, even our founders had to work through those. The difference is, they did and we aren't.
    3) Lack of power among the populous, maybe, but it's not because the power isn't there for them to use. I think people have become so apathetic they either disengage (which reflects the dismal election turn out) or just grab onto one side or the other and cling to it no matter the issue. Kinda like being a die-hard Mets fan.

Why isnt anything being fixed? Only one reason, Obama!!!!! He would rather fly around on Air Force One to play golf and do fund raising for democrats. He is a totally disinterested in actually doing the job of president. Basically he is a total fail. That why he was voted the worst president in the last 100 years.

    You're the partisan here.

Sometimes the conservatives are right, you know.

And just because you refuse to see it doesn't mean it's they way you want it to be.

As your "proof" that liberals want equalization of income and wealth you cite your own post asserting it?

    LMFAO!!

They want to get reelected and they want more bribes from big corporations. They couldn't care one way or another about America, regardless of which side of the aisle their on.

This will unfortunately, be the case until a Republican is in the White House....only then will the GOP allow things to progress.

Yep. And there are people with MONEY just as interested in perpetuating certain problems as well. With their 'money', they influence politicians.

Our politicians have voted themselves into positions where life is great, for them.
    What's to discuss?

I'm not sure most don't see it, in fact I think they do, they just don't know what they can do to fix it and when they do speak up or try to do something they get let down or silenced or worse. You may have read the article about the guy who went to a school board meeting. He was there to asks questions about Common Core or something, but when the board didn't answer he became more vocal & exceeded his 2 minute speaking time and ended up getting led out by the cops and handcuffed. The amazing part of the video was you could tell others in the room where wanting the same answers, yet they sat sheepishly by and watched one of their fellow parents be forcefully removed and handcuffed without so much as peep or lifting a finger to show any support for him. It was creepy. My thought was, if people are that intimated by the a school board, how much more so they must be by every government body.
I guess my point is this, people see the problems, many things they instinctively know aren't right, but because they've been so complicate for long, pushed that instinctive nature into a lock box for the sake of social acceptance (or what is perceived to be socially acceptable), fear or comfort they've lost something. Call it confidence, courage, whatever, but what it's resulted in is a society of weakness disguised in false virtue.

Not necessarily, Clinton was not a Republican, and we actually did some things right during those 8 years. We may have got more done, but Newt screwed up (no pun intended) and then Bill lied under oath. Politics got ugly after that, but at least we didn't undo the good things.

Wow man you are not helping your case here... Post #16 was your post; I think you meant to cite post #18, which was clearly written from a disaffected conservative's point of view, not a liberal point of view.

Conservatives dismiss liberals as wanting equal income and wealth, but the only equalities they really want are equal opportunity, equal justice, and equal treatment under the law. Why is that so threatening?

That all sounds good, but could you qualify what you mean by equal opportunity, equal justice, and equal treatment under the law.
