And yet your violent crime overall is still a significant problem. The weapon of choice is simply different. Perhaps a better question is why do non-Americans (particularly Europeans) fear guns so much?

stalingrad where more germans were killed by the russians in one city than the americans killed the entire war, but obviously america saved our asses it was america that won ww2, despite the russians actually being the ones that did most of the fighting.

its nothing to do with fear we cant understand why you lot have such a hardon for them

and try and understand this, stay with me here right, violent crime is a significant problem everywhere, theres nowhere you can go where it isnt, but in america the violent criminals have guns, most other places they dont. thats the benefit of having gun laws.

Funny how you mention that, as most of those countries usually lose to America in medal count and rank in the shooting events.

No one denies that. But if you'd rather trade gun deaths for knifes deaths, sure. But believing that the same thing can't be done with a knife is borderline naive.

I've already told you the point. You're stereotypical and it's very ignorant.

    WHY DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND

try and stay with me here, its nothing to do with trading gun deaths for knives, its that with guns there are a lot more deaths. deaths are bad. more guns equals more deaths. thats bad. are you getting this ?

its not stereotypical its an honest mistake and obviously I dont know anything about asian names why would I, it was also in my mind cause of that incident in CHINA very recently. do you know what country tain is in ? of course you dont thats not ignorance thats just not being from a place.

Chicago has very strict gun laws and that city has more gun deaths per capita than any other city in the US. Guns are not the problem, criminals are the problem.

irrelevant, chicago does not exist in a bubble, the guns are already in america and chicago did not always have so strict laws so theyre already there, you can only compare to an entire country with strict gun laws not one city in america, and when you do you find gun laws mean gun deaths drop dramatically.

How does more guns equate to more deaths? Do you realize that there are countries with stricter gun control laws with higher homicide rates? Mexico, Venezuela, Philippines, Honduras just to name a few. There are other countries which lenient gun control with lower homicide rates. Switzerland, Serbia, Cyprus and even Hong Kong. You don't even need a license to own a gun in Hong Kong. Just for unrestricted firearms and ammunition.

So I think that talking point is overplayed. It's not a gun problem. It's a cultural problem.

This is why you should think before you say things and take the time to do research before you try to play the intelligent card. You just make yourself look bad as a result.

mexico - is because it borders america, because of americas lack of gun laws and massive drug problem
venezuela - because it is a transit point for drugs into america and the police have been disarmed by chavez after an attempted coup

you really dont want to be comparing america to places like honduras etc anyway, that shows how bad your problem is, you can only compare with similar societies with similar levels of infrastructure and affluence, and when you do you find there is nowhere remotely close to being as bad as america when it comes to gun violence. there may be exceptions to the rule but more guns equals more deaths its logical and borne out by the facts

you want me to research a post on an internet forum, I didnt know osaka was in japan big deal sue me

if the german citizens had been well armed when hitler came to power------------------the whole world might be different and millions of lives could have been saved. you can say the same thing about cuba and castro, china and mao, russia and stalin, italy and mussolini

potential dictators know that taking weapons from the people is necessary if they are to take power. we really need to learn from history

The right to bear arms is fundamental to individual liberty. America was founded on the principle that We The People control the government instead of a Monarch and/or a Parliament.

An armed citizenry is a statement to government that, despite the government's overwhelming power, any attempt to subjugate the populace will be met with resistance backed up by the fact that We The People are well-armed. Unlike many countries ruled by Monarchies, dictators, tyrants etc. America was founded on the principle that The People have the final say over government.

Unfortunately there is a high price to be paid for freedom and so-called 'gun-violence' is one of them. Don't think that just because other countries (where government has banned guns) have less 'gun violence' that they don't experience other forms of violence and a certain amount of gun-violence as well.

It's not even that he can't grasp these things. It's that he's got so much emotion tied up in his current vision of reality that it would threaten too much of what he believes if he accepted this. The world wouldn't make sense to him anymore, and he'd have to reassess his entire belief system. And most people won't do this. Nobody likes to be wrong.

Mexico's gun laws has nothing to do with America's gun laws. Gun laws are stricter, and their homicides are worse.

No one is allowed to own a gun in Venezula, but their homicide rate is higher.

I'm comparing a country which virtually nearly banned guns which another country which has more loose rules. It shows how bad their problems are, not mine.

Says who? Because it fits your narrative or because when you find that when you have countries where the state controls all of the guns it makes little difference in the homicide rate? I can compare any country I wish, because I'm comparing policy, not infrastructure. If you wish to move the goalpost but it only shows that you want to ignore all the facts. You yourself said that more guns equals more deaths. So these countries should not have higher homicide rates, yet they do with no problem.

Switzerland, Serbia, Cyprus, and Hong Kong are not exceptions. You said that more guns equates to more deaths. So these countries should be swimming in violent deaths, but they don't.

There is hardly a correlation with homicides and guns. And in most cases, there isn't any at all.

I wanted you to research the even in question, but you couldn't even do that making yourself look like a fool.
