200 yrs ago?...because the persecution is still ongoing today...and white people whining "what about us poor white folk" and the same applies to christians complaining atheists who are now victimizing christians with vulgarity and are going to retaliate "victims (the religious) have had enough, you're going to see some serious **** "
the truth is atheists and people of colour are still being persecuted by racist whites and the religious and those respective groups don't need start crying about how badly they're being treated, the two situations are not comparable...

I don't hear white folk whining. The OP refers to people here on these threads not some third world country, so
name an atheist here who's been persecuted.

So let me get this straight : you complain about white people whining about persecution...just to engage in whining about persecution yourself.

I couldn't do a better SJW parody if I tried.

I agree, it's not how I normally speak either but I'm also capable of adjusting how I should speak according to the group I'm with.

No we shouldn't consider vulgarity as blasphemy.

That might be good for some old fashioned stuff, but I want to see what's new without vulgarity.

Actually, I'm not referring to posters here, I'm referring specifically to an insert post by Facebook as well as the "Secular Talk" YouTube channel.

Vulgarity is an interesting word. It has a couple of different definitions. Given the context of this discussion I think the "dated" definition is ironic.

    vul·gar
    ˈvəlɡər/
    adjective
    1. lacking sophistication or good taste; unrefined.
      "the vulgar trappings of wealth"
synonyms: tasteless, crass, tawdry, ostentatious, flamboyant, overdone, showy, gaudy, garish, brassy, kitsch, kitschy, tinselly, loud; More

      • making explicit and offensive reference to sex or bodily functions; coarse and rude.
        "a vulgar joke"
synonyms: rude, indecent, indelicate, offensive, distasteful, coarse, crude, ribald, risqué, naughty, suggestive, racy, earthy, off-color, bawdy, obscene, profane, lewd, salacious, smutty, dirty, filthy, pornographic, X-rated; More

      • dated
characteristic of or belonging to the masses.

Because lack of religion makes them less civil, I find vulgarity fine in small doses or it can make a point a POINT if done properly however.

I thought we were referring to the present day. You had to go all the way back there to complain about incivility today.
Why is it that there are more atheists on 'Religion and Philosophy' threads than there are theists? Is it because you go around looking for a fight?

Sheesh, talk about living in a fool's paradise. If you get your way, long before the last theist assumes Earth temperature, you people will be silencing each other more brutally than any Christian ever thought of doing. It'll make Stalin's purges look like the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius by comparison.

Oh great. If you have no meaningful answer you can always conjure up a prediction that can be neither proven nor disproven as a way to insult and attack your opponent.... even if it require little intellect.

Far be it from the y-man to gainsay your right to cleave to whatever retarded definition of the term you fancy.

Well it ain't like I was responding to anything that merited any great expenditure of intellectual effort, let's face it.

Me too. I'm not religious but I approve of religion. I don't understand why atheists are so set on converting the faithful? I guess misery loves company.

Hilarious, another religious person who has a need to attack athiests. You need to do a deep self examination to figure out why you are so afraid. Insecurity perhaps?

You have it backward. I'm a saved christian, or I should say I'm saved FROM christianity. I'm a former seeker and devotee. I went from being like you, to being an agnostic, to being a seeker and believer, to being an atheist. So I've seen it from all sides and I've always been off-put by the "believer's" seeming need to collect agreement and converts. Most of them are self-righteous and disapprove of any resistance to their proselytizing. They're offensive and it's time atheists returned the offense.

Turn about is fair play. You Christians don't listen to opposition, so atheists have chosen to do something more direct. Sorry you don't like your own medicine.
