I have never before read such an insightful and non-nonsensical critique of young Earth creationism.

The five minutes I did watch made it clear that he no argument, just specious misrepresentations to suit his preferences. Unless you posted the wrong video.

If you believe the Bible is a scientific document then you are beyond help.

Don't even need to watch it to answer your question. Laughing at someone for not sharing your views instead of respectfully disagreeing with them stems from a need to appear superior. Which is rooted in insecurity. Whether your conscious mind realizes it or not, if you were certain of what you are claiming, you would not need others to accept it in order to be at peace. The fact that you are attempting to shame others into capitulation shows that, in reality, you are not as certain as you want to believe you are. Instead, what you are actually doing is seeking additional validation for your belief system by pressuring other people to accept it. Now you can reject this if you like, but you'll only be further proving my point. That you need me to agree with you.

No, when people with idiotic beliefs want those beliefs to be enforced upon all then it's time to stop being nice.

There aint no premise in the bb theory that says the sky and the earth were created by God 14 billion years ago.

The idea that the universe is 13.5 billion years old is as silly as the creation myth. There's no way to determine how old the universe is. If you think about it you will realize what I wrote is true.

We know full many an atheist who has read the bible thru and thru, but we sure have never found a creationist who understands Toe well enough to argue anything other than their own misconceptions.

Roughly like the arguments of those who couldnt accept that yellow fever is carried by mosquitoes.

There is, if we have a firm understanding of how the universe came into being, the physics involved and know all the variables involved. As for the 13.5 billion years, that was derived from taking the current size of the observable universe and using the current rate of expansion, extrapolating backwards until we get to a point where the size of the universe was effectively zero. To give an example, if we had a balloon that was 12 inches in size and was continually inflating at 1 inch per minute, we could extrapolate that it has been inflating for 12 minutes. Of course, in the universe, there are lot of variables we don't know such as the true size of the universe, and if the rate of expansion has stayed constant. So with our current science... no we can't know exactly how old the universe is, just educated guesses. However, that doesn't mean we won't know someday in the future.

So do you still think that figuring out the age of the universe using observation and mathematics is as silly as using an ancient text of myths to figure out the origin of life?

So the universe could have never expanded faster or slower at any given time??

It has expanded over different rates over time. Please read any theoretical physics book that is in a book store today. The Big Bang/Inflation occupies a few chapters of any book worth a read.

I would have to flip through Fabric of the Cosmos for specifics.

However the rate of expansion has changed, I don't believe is has ever changed.

"Could have" doesn't mean did. Modalogical arguments are a waste of time. Almost anything "could have" happened when you're limited only by your imagination. When you're limited by evidence and the scientific method it's alot tougher but you're also far more likely to arrive at the truth.
