Why ? You want your family members to get killed by some criminal (that you didn't have a gun to defend against) Maybe you might consider rethinking "it".
I can't stop walking, driving, living in buildings subject to fire, food-poisonings and perhaps even deliberate ones, falls, air plane crashes and many other sorts of accidents. I do not have to have a gun, so that one I can avoid.
And in so doing you make yourself (unecessarily) susceptible to be being harmed (or killed) by criminals, (when you could "avoid" that)

no, a sane mind cannot dream of such things, much less carry out such a heinious event. Only people who dream of ruling over someone or forcing an opinion on another, can. Since I consider neither, those around me are perfectly safe, because I trust myself. I excercise no force on others and I have no intention of ruling over others. You do realize that along with a gun ban will come the complete loss of privacy, right? According to Consstitutional law, the Federal government cannot pass any law that infringes on the Bill of Rights. something like ,,,"Congress shall pass no law abridging these freedoms." You're actually asking the Fed gov to break the law, to become criminal, for what?

What do I expect? I expect people to act like grown adults instead of idiots and do common sense things. But they won't, because they are selfish idiots that care about having toys with 30 round clips that have no business on our streets. And the least that these immature idiots need to understand is, that 90% of the country thinks we should have better background checks. What reasonably sane individual in his or her right mind would be against that? None! And who are these other 10% nuts? They are potentially the same disturbed people we dealt with at Newtown, Aurora, and Columbine. When you can't even go along with background checks, there's something seriously wrong with these caliber people. They have totally gone off the edge, and are no longer capable of having a logical conversation.
