There won't be a 5 minute time limit for Kavanaugh to fillibuster. They will wait patiently for him to answer their questions. First they will likely ask him why his calendar notes several small gatherings with friends to drink beers, yet he repeatedly denied being at any small gathering to drink beers like the one Ford described.

That's if he even agrees to be questioned. More than likely he won't. Neither will Judge or TJ. The girl who was friends might.

The FBI will also look into the 2 other allegations.

On a side note, if you made a drinking game about taking a sip every time Brett said "Beer" in his testimony you would probably be dead right now.

I have little doubt that there was more than beer consumed at many of these gatherings and parties.

Of course he claims to not know what "too many beers" is. Referring to the blood alcohol chart you won't find a line saying "too many".

As for the false narrative that witnesses have signed statements saying it never happened, that’s still a false narrative regardless if Brett is confirmed or not.

This just seems "too perfect" for the Democrats.

Either they don't confirm him and lose their bases enthusiasm, or they do confirm him and gain Democrat base enthusiasm.

It is "too perfect" with the timing and the strategy, almost a pincer move.

That being said, if it TRULY is about this case, then I think my example works well.

Otherwise, if I were the Republicans I would just ram it through as since the Democrats have set up a losing strategy for you anyways, you may as well.... as you said, "ram it through".

Looks like they actually ARE going to take my advice though with a "limited FBI investigation".

Actually is a pretty good move by Republicans. When the investigation goes through, if nothing is found, I think the Democratic base enthusiasm will be blunted by Independants who feel this was actually nothing but a political strategy.

Yes, I’d like to see an investigation too but it appears Trump and the Republicans are against it. We shall see.

 

Uh, they LITERALLY just agree to open a "limited investigation", as I just said. Looks like after the testimonies that you are correct, Republicans agree that the Democrats and Ford looked worse than the Republicans and Kav to the public. Seems like they feel comfortable pushing through except for Flake. Which seems why Trump made the comment about an investigation.

I still expect Kavanaugh will be confirmed on an entirely partisan vote 51 to 49. The FBI will take their week, they'll interview each of the alleged witnesses which have been identified (Smyth, Judge and Keyser) who will confirm their previous testimony. The FBI could also interview the students identified in both Kavanaugh and Ford's high school yearbooks to see if they can offer any corroboration, they could even search property records going back 36 years to identify and question everyone who owned a home with two floors within 10 miles of either school between the summer of 1980 and 1982 to see if any (who are till alive) recall circumstances that could have led to teenagers partying at their residence at the time. I expect their search will produce an inconclusive report, which will be delivered to the Senate where Democrats will again denounce the disregard and insensitivity of Republicans to the suffering of this assaulted 15 year-old girl, the brutality of her assailant, the humiliation and harassment poor Ford has endured. Then there will be a vote; 51 to 49.

 

Don't you think Dr.Ford has been thru enough? She was screwed over by the dems and her lawyers and you want her lies investigated.....sad.
