Maybe you should stop worrying about politicians morals and focus instead on how well they're doing their jobs. Most candidates for local offices don't spend a lot of money to get elected. You just need to know how to target the likely voters. The secret is to pick an office where you can win with the fewest number of votes. That way it won't cost you a lot. Then, after you have established a track record you can move up to larger and more influential positions.
