The story of Lot claims that Lot was the only rightious man is Sadom. He refused to take part in the evil that the other men of the city commited and even offered to let the men rape his two daughters to save two strangers......but that right there is very strange............He wanted to force his daughters to submit to being raped by hundreds of men in order to save complete strangers. Is it now a virtue to not care about your child's well being? In modern society, what Lot did would get him thrown in prison and have his kids taken away.

Good question. Also, I wonder about Solomon's title of "wisest man in the world". His only display of that legendary wisdom was tricking two cannibal hookers, and then he went on and built a temple to Baal. The bible is full of inexplicable heroes. How about Abraham, the would-be murderer of his own son?

Lot is not a beacon of morality. Just the opposite. He was 'righteous' in that he was a child of God. He was not rejected by God because of any wrong thing he did. That doesn't make what Lot did, right. It does show however God will not turn away from His people.

Just as with those who don't know God. Who are not of God. They can do many right things, and still be rejected by God because they refuse to believe.

God does not hide the sins and shortcomings of His people. He addresses them. Solomon was a child of God. Loved by God. And given wisdom from God. The many women he kept however turned him away from God and he built many temples to the foregin gods. This wisdom of God can be read throughout the book of Proverbs written by Solomon in the days when he enjoyed God and that wisdom. But in the book of Ecclesiastes we see Solomon after turning away from God. And indeed became ensnared in the very things he warned about in Proverbs. But God never rejected Solomon. Though He disciplined him here. As God does for all His people.

God is the giver of life and taker of life. Whenever He takes it, it is not murder. He can take it anytime He wants to and anyway He wants to. And when God told Abraham to sacrifice his son on the alter, it was not murder for Abraham to be willing to obey. It would not have been murder if Abraham had done it.
