The basic problem is not a difference in issues. The basic problem is the overall view of federal government. The left tends to put faith in it and the right tends to distrust it. The left searches for collective solutions and the right searches for individual ones. As an example, I have no problem with your agenda. I just don't want federal government involved in it. I want way, way, way less federal government than you want. If we could make federal government smaller and better we might get back to the way it was when it was smaller and better.

The concept of a "small" federal government was a complete and utter DISASTER when it was tried under the Articles of Confederation!

In fact ALL attempts are "smaller" government have been dismal failures. Just ask Kansas and Louisiana how BAD it was for them and WHY they got rid of it?

That's why you go to plumber when you need a heart valve replacement rather than one of those "evil" university medical center trained doctors ... it's fun to complain about University Educations - until you realize just how much of what we
take for granted has been brought to you by the research at those Universities and the people who have graduated from them.

I was also taking about the federal government and the Articles of Confederation PROVED established that a small Federal government DOES NOT WORK!

They pine for the "good old days" when their local barber could replace a heart valve in exchange for a bottle of moonshine!

they've no common sense, ergo should never be allowed to set policies upon society...

So Trump, who attended a University, should never be allowed to set policy. Or will you try to backpedal out of that one.

not at all... the entire premise of washington dc & whom is 'allowed' to become a candidate is flawed...

never say never, however, we'll never rid ourselves of those two parties that have a stranglehold...

Bi government vs. small government and on and on. How about right sized government? Except during recession and depressions, government expenditures has accounted for 20% of GDP. It's been that way for over fifty years. It would appear the American people are comfortable with that ratio. More importantly, it works.

No doubt the public is comfortable with it. In my view it doesn't work at all. It just exists.

Of course. And the right sized federal government is much, much smaller than what we have today. Most of what federal government does should be moved to the states, the private sector or the trash. States have to compete with other states. A person can move away from state with laws and programs that he or she doesn't like. Federal government has no competition and we stuck with what it does.

    WRONG again!

It was such a DISASTER that it was COMPLETELY TRASHED and REPLACED with our current Constitution MANDATING a STRONG Federal government.

Not complaining of those with university education. Just saying it means little if you don't also have common sense to go with it. You might be great in what you studied, but a total idiot in other things that seem simple to most others. You wouldn't believe the people that made it big without a college education, but had to have a lot of common sense, to succeed as they did. People like Einstein and Henry Ford, etc., etc.

I agree that not all people need college education to be successful - but listing those who did not go to college and were successful compared to those who did, would be a very lopsided list. And there are many positions were there would be such a disparity that it’s not worth addressing.
