Will the latest Supreme Court ruling on abortion affect the outcome of the next election?

There are a lot of people who are outraged at the latest Supreme Court ruling relating to abortion.
It is a victory that Pro-Lifers have been fighting and hoping for for a long time, even though by itself it will not mean an end to abortion in the country.

But most of the people who are outraged by the decision would have no chance of voting for Republicans anyway.

And furthermore, the vast majority of people who are outraged live in states where abortion is in absolutely no immediate danger of being made illegal.

So one has to ask, will this decision really have any impact on the outcome of the next election?

There do exist many Republicans who are worried whether this decision could detrimentally impact their party's chances in the next election.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Presidential election is a winner-take-all contest carried out individually in each state. The places where people are most in favor of abortion, Republicans do not have to worry about losing in the Presidential election, because they had no chance of winning these states regardless.

60% of the "swing states" that could decide the Presidential election lean more socially-conservative, and only about 20% of them lean pro-abortion.
