When I first arrived at Berlin, the question was ... where will I stay? I flew there on the spur of the moment when my flight from Frankfurt to Oslo Norway was removed from me when an officer took my seat. I had to move quickly or stay at the Airfield at Frankfurt that night. I was told by an Air Force person at the counter I could catch the Courier flight from Frankfurt to Berlin on the C-47 which is a two engine DC-3. Fortunately by air, the trip is not too long.

My avatar shows the mansion I lived at for a few days. Rent was cheap. Food was cheap. We in the Army that located the place had a good time of it. To the rear of the Mansion or villa is a large grass area then the docks for the boats. Since the building dates back to the early 1900s, Imagine great craftsmanship but an old design. My room was not much more than spartan with a military officers bed. There was a huge dining area and also a bar in the place.

This is the write up. i am including a full size photo of the back of the home. My avatar is the back. The front is not much to brag about. But it has a very large front yard and plenty of trees.

If you hesitate as you see the photos, they rotate and you get a good idea of the home and the property.

My avatar is larger by clicking the photo two times. It takes you to the home page where the full size of the rear of the home can be seen. I did not stay in the back of the home but in the front. I recall walking up the stairs to the higher floor. What I do not recall is a bathroom. Funny innit?
