She technically was only called "Ginger"...she was not the sultry movie starlet that Tina Louise played. According to the pilot and character outline, she was more the "common sense, practical" girl of the two (with, as I say, "Bunny" being a stereotypical "dumb blonde")

If you've never seen the pilot, it has almost identical dialogue....but the intro does NOT include the Wellington's "Ballad of Gilligan's Island" ("Just sit right back...).....but a kind of reggae/Caribbean riff.
