Rep. Yoho represents an view of women, of congress, of America that could not be more disgusting. We talk about the caustic nature of congress. What we're seeing is this not just being partisan. It's WAY beyond that. Rep. Yoho didn't just verbally assault AOC. He then went to the floor of the House and DEFENDED his remarks!!! He actually claimed he wouldnt use his language in from of his daughters. AOC is 2 years younger than his daughter. She is an elected official of this nation. What I really want to know is how Republicans can tolerate this kind of attitude. NOT ONCE do we see Republicans suggest that Rep. Yoho's attitude is inappropriatE. As she points out, his use of these slurs against women promotes the use of these words against women everywhere. As a leader of the USA, he models this as being OK. Is this just Mr. Yoho? Absolutely not. Florida's de Santis has made disgusting remarks of a very personal nature against AOC. In fact, our PRESIDENT has done the same.
"Yoho vs Women" Are you saying that his comments against AOC are a slam against ALL women? Is AOC a representative of all women? I mean, that's kind of an odd way to conflate events. When AOC says something stupid, are all women saying something stupid too? Or are all women just stupid in general? I guess what I'm saying is that you need to re-think what you posted.
it sounds like something most women would say in these here more feminist times the puerto rican socialist said black protesters were thieving bread to feed their families
Maxine Waters called Trump a scumbag. Biden called Trump a racist. Tlaib called Trump a motherf**ker. Schiff called Trump a traitor. I may have missed it, but did any of them apologize? AOC is once again playing the victim card. As a politician, if she can't handle a little non violent criticism, then I suggest she go back to making MAGAritas.
I would be shocked if Cortez has an IQ in triple digits. She is the living embodiment of an airhead. To pretend that all women are as insipid as her is an insult to women. I am constantly amazed that someone with her obvious and glaring intellectual limitations is given a position of such power. There is no better evidence that America is moving away from meritocracy than AOC in a position of power rather than cleaning rooms at the local Motel 6.
What evidence do you cite to support your assertion that these 'attacks' are directed at AOC because she's a woman? Couldn't it be that she's just a particularly toxic partisan moron that has nothing to do with her gender? Does her gender make her inelligible for criticism?
I'm saying that he sees this kind of language as totall satisfactory. Yoho stated that he would not use this kind of language in the presence of HIS mother/daughter/wife. THAT was his defense!!! He stood before the House and claimed his laugnage was JUST FINE on those grounds.
I recognize that you are struggling with this issue. And, whining about AOC for some totally unrelated issue would certainly be one way to go, since youve got NOTHING.
Politics' is not for the weak kneed or thin skinned. Rep Yoho would have been better off just doubling down and basically say to just get over it Sandy.
Calling a f***ing b*tch a f***ing b*tch is not an attack on women I think AOC is a f***ing b*tch too and I'm a woman. Ted's problem is just that he said what we are all thinking out loud. Sometimes propriety demands we keep those harsh truths quiet. Ted's filter slipped that day. People have certainly said and done worse directed at Republicans. But hypocrisy is thy name for most victim-card-playing attention whoring leftie politicians. OMG someone called me a b*tch because I'm a b*tch!!!!! Get over it. Or, you know, quit acting like f***ing b*tch, AOC
AOC masterfully dissassembled not just Yoho's orginal and disgusting comment but his preposterous argument. And, it WAS an attack on women as his nonapology made crystal clear. In fact, AOC called that out, stating that she wouldn't have taken time on the House floor if Yoho hadn't made it an issue of treatment of women - which he absolutely did. You may not like AOC policy, but that is not an excuse for your comments above. And if you were interested in making useful political contribution on this board you wouldn't be using the words YOU select, either.
The video makes that clear. AOC was eloquent and I would defer to her comments rather than trying to paraphrase and position her argument.
If women can't handle the nastiness of today's politics they need to find other work.. The days of our legislature being civil and having a drink together after work is long gone. This reflects the nasty partisanship of voters on social media. The whole nation are partisan *********s. AOC needs to toughen up for the House has no safe room with hot cocoa.. Can't handle the micro aggression, find work at Starbucks.
YES he is POTUS and God willing and for the sake of the country will be until 2024! But he has not involved in this thread topic.
When Republican's start tolerating gangs of violent thugs roaming unchecked breaking windows, toppling statues, looting stores, setting fires, spray-painting everything in sight, vandalizing public and private property, breaking into communities and threatening to murder people in their own homes, spitting on cops, throwing rocks bricks and bottles at cops, breaking bats over cop's heads, and now permanently blinding cops with lasers... when they start tolerating any of that you let know. The Congressgirl got her fee-fees hurt and you want us to act like its the greatest problem partisan politics has created in 2020? Come on, Will, get real.
LOL!!! There were others on the scene. They included at least one reporter who stated exactly what he had heard before ever talking to AOC or anyone else. Yoho IS a big fat pants on fire liar. Thanks for pointing that out.
