Well icing the kicker doesn't work. But Carol said he didn't call time out, and I know he didn't give the signal. If Carol was mic'd, I wonder if the NFL will ever let us hear it. The refs were so bad in all four games, you gotta believe they were from the WWE. Bring back the replacements! Next weeks NFC championship game would be a lot better if Seattle was there. Falcons have as much chance of winning next week as Houston had beating the Pats. I'm picking Pats vs. 49ers in SB XLVII. Let me guess, so are you.
Not so fast there. I'm hoping beyond hope that Atlanta beats SF and that N.E. beats a hot Baltimore team, because N.E. would most likely blowout Atlanta in the SB as Brady would pick apart their weak secondary. Remember, as hot as SF seems to be now--Atlanta will be coming off an extremely emotional win against Seattle, and they'll be at home to boot, so this isn't exactly an easy game to win for SF. So having said that, I'll be picking Atlanta to meet N.E. in the SB. This is such a crazy playoff year, that it wouldn't surprise me to see Baltimore against S.F. in the SB. Btw, looks like the Gronkowski injury will keep him out for the rest of the games this year.
I want a new quarterback. I'm done with Schaub. His supporting cast is great. He just sucks. He's not in the same league as guys like Brady and Rodgers. We should have gone after Peyton Manning this year. Half the town wanted to, but nobody wanted to mess up the chemistry of the team. Manning vs. Brady today would have been solid.
ESPN clarified what Carol said on the field. He wasn't saying he didn't call time out, he was complaining about Atlanta's kicker doing a practice kick after Carol call time out. Still, icing doesn't work. Atlanta came within an eyelash of becoming the biggest choker since the Houston Oilers. They'll get steamrolled by S.F..
He can (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) all he wants there is no rule against snapping the ball as the ref blows the whistle and kicking it. I'd have my snapper snap it every time the ref blows the whistle and take a practice kick.
Peyton Manning proves again why he is the most over-rated QB in NFL history. He tends to choke in big games. Most playoff losses...an NFL record. As often as Tim Tebow was bashed and ridiculed, while Manning held up as some sort of "God-like" QB... in the final analysis, Tebow has won more playoff games than Manning, as Broncos.
Yeah, I've been saying for some time that Manning is the most overrated QB. You see where Tom Brady broke the NFL record yesterday by winning more playoff games than anyone in history?
I didn't say there was a rule against it. I was just saying that, that is what Carol was complaining about. Next time don't try to ice the kicker. The other problem with Carol's coaching in the last 30 seconds, was that stupid "prevent defense", which only prevented Seattle from winning. BLITZ! Don't give Ryan time to find a receiver!
On Inside The NFL last night they showed the highlights of last weekends games. In the game between Seattle and Atlanta, they showed the coach of the Falcons talking to the refs, being mic'd up. You could hear him calling time out at the end of the game. But they didn't show Pete Carol being mic'd up, or showing him calling time out just before the Atlanta kicker tried the field goal to win the game. That is very curious, because Carol was on the field making a big deal about the missed attempt, and it was like it never happened. They didn't show it at all. Sometimes it just looks like the NFL is rigged.
I feel like a bit of a prophet on that one, considering that Gonzo made the catch that put the Falcons in position to kick the winning FG. Who's going to the Super Bowl? Well, since I picked the Pats from the start, I'm sticking with them. But, I think the Ravens will give them all that they can handle & then some. It wouldn't shock me if Baltimore pulls the upset, but I think New England holds on & wins. I'm picking Atlanta to go to the Super Bowl. Everybody & their brother thinks that San Fran will roll the Falcons, but I get nervous when "everybody" is on board for anything in sports. The 9ers are probably better than the Falcons are & would probably win on a neutral field, but the game is at Atlanta, which is in a dome & will be very loud. San Fran has lost at other domes (St.Loo, Minnesota, but won in N.O.) & loud venues(Seattle). The 9ers have also followed up big wins with down performances. I think this might be a down performance. But it also wouldn't surprise me if S.F. wins by a FG.
I'll be really surprised if S.F. doesn't win by at least ten points. Tommy will get the ball to all those weapons way too fast for Lewis and Suggs get to him. Ravens only hope, is to be able to run the ball enough to keep Brady off the field. Pats win by ten too.
Watch for the surprising upset in Atlanta as the falcons have a date to meet New England in the super bowl. You heard it here first.
8:55 left in the game 4th and 4 from the 22 coming in to get back in the game....Brady pulls up and throws the ball away rather than running for the first down and risk getting hit....Biggest sissy choker of all time award goes to pretty boy Brady today...
That was NOT a fumble by the Patriots. He was on his butt when the ball came out. It was a worse call than the replacement refs call in the end zone. There were so many bad calls in the playoffs, the game has to be rigged as much as the WWE. They don't even get it right when watching it in slow motion replay.
Raise your hand if you thought the Ravens were gonna beat Manning and Brady within a 2 week span on the road?
Both Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are gifted QBs but are also both sissies who choke against tough physical defenses like the Ravens have...Kudos to Ray Lewis and the rest of this gritty Raven team...The two best teams will meet in the Superdome!!
Yes it was a fumble, though it was very close. If you watch again the ball is jarred lose just before he goes down. As per the rule a player must maintain possession while being tackled.
Brady punked out on the 4th and 4 with plenty of time left to win the game. I could have run that ball for a first down and I am 60 years old. Brady then threw the ball away thereby conceding the game to Baltimore rather than risk getting hit by the big bad Baltimore defense. He is and always has been gutless. The refs made the proper call on the fumble in question. The ball carrier was out on his feet before he hit the ground and the ball was loose. New England has choked once again in the big game. They haven't won for 7 years now ever since Belichick got caught cheating. Baltimore proved that they were the far superior team last night.
LOL, that really was weak and womanly...Brady has been racking up all of his impressive stats by playing six times a year against crappy teams like Buffalo, Miami and the Jets...Meanwhile, your Ravens are steel tempered by playing Pittsburgh and Cincy...Kudos to the Ravens, Coach Harbaugh, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Tyrell Suggs and the rest of the excellent and tough Baltimore team for exposing Brady, Belicheat and the rest of those pansies up there on a national stage right on their home field...We all know that the real power in the AFC is in the North division!! Good luck in New Orleans.
