Who has suffered the most from the Obama presidency? The very people who voted for Obama! 1) Obamacare will burden young adults. Study: Insurance costs to soar under Obamacare Welcome to the Real World: Grim Prospects for Young Adults under Obamacare 2) Under Obama black unemployment has reached Great Depression levels. The youth employment rate is also dismal. Black unemployment at Great Depression levels of 23.7% Generation Barack: Youth Unemployment Rate Soars to 16.8% And don't forget the huge deficit Obama has saddled on future generations.
I was a young person who thought Obama wouldnt be anything special. Didnt know of many young people who did honestly. Maybe things are different in Australia than they are in the US Populism sucks btw
I did not vote for the guy, but in comparison to the last President we had...I would call it an improvement.
Sure . . . along the lines of coming down with double pneumonia is still better than coming down with the plague. That makes sense. But the big problem is that Obama was supposed to have been a case of political rapture -- which is how he was endlessly presented to this nation back in 2008 by his political operatives and by a worshipful mainstream media -- rather than the political equivalent of double pneumonia. So there is a blatant misrepresentation of character and abilities issues in Obama's case. As for G.W. Bush, not even his own supporters ever really believed that they were electing a 'compassionate' conservative. They just figured that he would have to be a somewhat better president than Al Gore. Heck . . . and the jury is still out on that because Gore seems to be a total nutter.
From what I remember, the Messiah syndrome you refer to came about shortly after his election and was not a creation of his supporters....but it may be my memory is not as clear as it once was. Bush pretty much placed this country on the road to the bankruptcy Obama is forced to deal with, basically between wars, economic/tax policy, unfunded mandate, and increased Government, his Presidency can only be seen as amongst the most damaging to the country in history.
Your bias is quite interesting. No it doesnt matter which (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) bag is leading the party, the party fans will praise them like a demi-god.
It is a testimonial to the fanaticism of the Republican berserkers that their ongoing obsession with befouling the President's agenda evokes popular support for what has been an administration of modest and dilatory achievements in recovering from the Bush/Cheney years. Those who obsess over the President can't grasp why their habitual shrill demand, "Hate him!" is so off-putting for Americans who twice elected him. "Gee, I could have had a Willard!" is not a slogan likely to sweep across the land. Perhaps, the single-minded assault upon the President is calculated to distract from Boehner's dysfuncton House, but it just isn't working.
Weirdly enough nobody pointed a finger at Obama's head and forced him to put this nation 16 trillion dollars in debt. So, no, Obama is not a great president. Hell, he's not even a good president. Oh and the Political Messiah stuff was coined over the way that both the adoring mainstream media and his supporters drooled all over a fellow who was -- when you got right down to it -- nothing more than a first term U.S. senator woefully lacking in necessary national level experience and management and leadership skills. He was a fad treated by his fans as a political rock star . . . but as the whole world discovered once he got elected, there was actually no 'there' there. But for all of that I agree that G.W. Bush was marginally worse.
No, that's not quite true. G.W. Bush was not treated exceptionally well by the media or by the people who voted for him until after the 9-11 attack occurred. Then, of course, he blew it by invading Iraq and sinking this nation about four trillion dollars in debt. I was very, very angry at Bush over those things. I welcomed the 2008 election and the possibility that either Hillary Clinton or John McCain could begin fixing what got broke; but then it became apparent that non-thinkers really were going to elect a first term U.S. senator with zero meaningful national level experience or history of leadership or management skills during a time of massive domestic and international problems merely because they fell in love with a manufactured image . . . and I walked away from the Democratic Party and became an independent.
I'm sorry, but that ship has sailed. Perhaps you're too young to remember -750,000 jobs per month and the budget busts of the Bush administration. Not that I don't empathize with your generation, but Republican malfeasance has destroyed the economy for each of the preceding 3 or 4 generations as well.
If we're talking about deficits, Obama deserves NO blame. He inherited Bush's wars plus he has no way of reducing deficits due to Bush's tax cuts. Nevermind that when Bush left office we were bleeding 750,000 jobs per month which means, of course, way less money in the coffers.
If we're talking about deficits, we're talking about how much the wacko birds will be raising the current one by their tantrum. If they insist on holding their breath on allowing the US to pay its bills, they'd be wreaking havoc with the economy and possibly restoring the Bush recession, causing the deficit to soar. .
This pisses me off more than anything else. These house morons know less about reality than most Americans, and do not understand what WILL happen if we allow the dollar to suffer because we burn it in front of everyone. All because you don't like a law.....pathetic.
Or if you compare him to his opponents in both elections. The man has a lot of flaws, but he's the best I've seen since Clinton
Though Clinton did a pretty good job from my perspective....economically and socially...he disgraced the office he held.
No. But Bush burned down the economy and the only way to repair it was to INVEST in the country. I know you don't understand that but if conservatives knew a damned thing about economics they wouldn't have destroyed the US in the first place. If we'd had Howard Dean in 2008 we'd ALL be in better shape. His campaign shows how the media can raise a candidate or destroy him based on NOTHING. As for the rah rah crap re Obama most of that is just the same media shaping your opinions and beliefs. I don't know anybody that was that excited about him. I pretty much called his act exactly right based on internet rumors about how much he caved to the right when he was editor of the Harvard Review. Hillary was the one getting all the real enthusiasm. And she's going to CRUSH whoever the GOP puts up in 2016. You mean like that Tommy Jefferson guy knockin' boots with a black slave? Again this just shows how much the corporate media can shape people's opinions. They're doing the same thing pretending that there are two sides to this shut down thing. There are NO two sides to this. If Boehner would let the clean bill come to the floor it would pass tonight. He's the ONLY one holding things up. And its all for HIS OWN political gain. He's scared to death of the billionaires that back the tea party.
Deliberately sinking this nation 16 trillion dollars in debt is not 'investing' in the economy, it's raping, pillaging, and burning down the economy. You'd think that a glorious Community Organizer would have known at least that much about how economies operate . . . but I guess they skiped that sort of thing in all those socialist organization lectures he attended during his college years.
The bigoted, racist right wing have developed more ulcers than ever before. Luckily, because of Obamacare, they can afford treatment.
