Exactly. The shutdown didn't affect anybody. ObamaScare will be affecting everybody.... right where it hurts the most... their pocketbook.
And children under 3 could successfully invade the Andromeda galaxy, if 6 were 9. But.... - - - Updated - - - Yea, I was just wondering myself about the name, "dollface". ha ha
a year from now no one will remember a shut down that effected a hand full but what the voters will remember is the train wreck of Obama care and the congressmen who stood up to save them from the train wreck. remember these are local and state elections so it does not make a dam what all of America thinks it is what the voters in the individual states and districts think Democrats need to stop worrying about taking over the house and worry about keeping the senate there are 7 seats held by democrats that are in trouble in 2014 those seats are in states that Romney carried in 2012. the average cost increase for insurance in those states have risen over 50%. republicans only need 5 of those seats
dictators at least get things done - Obama is being denied the right to do the will of the people by the Tea Party.
"Center right", LOL. The party that wants a big welfare state, socialized medicine, amnesty for illegals, high tax rates, and gun confiscation/control is only "center right" if you are on the ridiculously extreme edge of the left-wing spectrum.
How can this be? According to all left wing media outlets, Obama is "winning". Even his officials are saying the same thing: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/obama-admin-official-we-are-winning-shutdown-fight
It's not an impression that they've done nothing, it's a fact that they've done nothing. Outside of that "investment act"(in 2009) that did nothing but provide kickbacks to corporations, and their lobbying friends. The House Republicans passed 40 jobs bills. Unfortunately, Harry Reid allowed not a single one for a debate on the Senate Floor. Not a single jobs bill up for debate, nor have the Democrats even touched a budget. They have 200 members in the House, as well as their majority in the Senate . I refuse to hear their excuses on the matter, at a time of crucial importance for this country, they put a gun to our heads for an insurance plan and they raised the debt by 7 trillion dollars in 6 years. But jobs? They still don't have a jobs plan. Apparently they think that if they just mention the word, jobs will come flying out of nowhere.
Who do you think elected the tea party, trees? Just because its not YOUR will doesnt mean they aren't doing what we elected them to do... stop Obama. This thread is proof they're succeeding.
No, but I guarantee they had a functioning government in 6 years. Do you know how shameful you guys sound? "We're so inept we're gonna blame it on 30 Republicans called "tea partiers"". I'm proud to be a Nationalist Independent, it's time for real concrete change in America and I guarantee you a true coalition will get a budget passed.
The Tea Party may have been created with the most noble of desires, but it got overtaken by paranoid people who have no real direction where they wish to lead us. What alternative does the Tea Party and Cruz have to Obamacare ? All they want to do is repeal it and bring us back to the old system - but what was so good about that ?
Rome was not created by democrats and progressive... Detroit was... Another thing democrats and progressives created:
No there's not. Here are 3 reasons the Democrats will get clobbered in 2014 1) ObamaCare Employer Mandate: A List Of Cuts To Work Hours, Jobs 2) Obamacare deductibles a dose of sticker shock Insurance companies requiring higher out-of-pocket expenses to comply with new rules 3) Understanding the terms, deductibles Understanding the terms, out of pocket They will be the end of the Democrat party, sans a few in gerrymandered districts. You don't seem to understand, the outrageous deductibles and out of pocket expenses will affect liberals and conservatives alike.
That's pretty much a lie to say and it's quite frustrating that the left attacks them with such a moniker. From an independents view, it really seems like the same old tactic of "you don't agree with us so you have nothing!" The TEA party wants to do it piece by piece instead of some massive two million page monstrous bill. I personally agree with them that it should be broken up and done in smaller portions. The left has shoved this through so many times when it is not ready and it is showing now. Obviously this can be seen starting when Scott Brown won his election and the left had to do all kinds of crazy games and deals to shove it through in time. Sadly I understand because the right never would have gone along with it, I am sure because they didn't want the other team (D's) to score a political point. But no beta test? Come on, that's programming 101!!! I do agree with you though that the TEA party has sadly been subverted (by social republicans on my opinion) and it has really hurt the movement. With today's media it is just so impossible to keep to a message. Just like OWS either the right or left media machine turns whatever groups message into their own right or left dogma, very frustrating time we live in isn't it?
This takes my prize as the most bizarre thread of the year to date... Voter anger WILL carry over but not about silly stuff like shutdowns but instead to the daily nightmare that is ObamaCare...By summer next year most of the country will not be angry but furious as they figure out what has been inflicted on them and how big the lies from the Left were in getting the mess passed.
Well lets see here, on the one hand you have a shut down that didn't really effect that many Americans at all, on the hand you have millions of Americans, as far as we know, being spied on by the government still, Obamacare starting in shambles and unlikely to meet is minimum requirements to keep it afloat, and we still have no idea at what level of enforcement the IRS goons are going to use for those who don't want Obamacare. There may well be plenty of other things that voters might be angry about come next Nov...
Voter anger? I didn't notice any voter anger over anything. Why would they be angry? The government shut down? Really? I didn't notice. Neither did anyone else.
It is pretty funny what people care about now days. I bet at least half of those in the country that vote are single issue voters. In my opinion that's what sucks so much about our Democracy. No matter what idiocy a guy could be running on, some people will vote for a guy/gal as long as he/she supports whatever cause they demand. I think this hurts us more than anything else in a lot of issues.
I have to disagree, most voters are simply stupid and vote because one candidate has flashier ads or attacks more brutally than the other. I doubt most American voters could even fully explain their own position on 99% of the issues that arise during a campaign...
True, but the average citizen tends to go with what the mainstream media tells them, and most of the MSM is still maintaining that Obama is a great guy doing really, really great things -- it's just that those very great things are undetectable -- and that prosperity is just around the corner. In a battle between reality and MSM pushed propaganda . . . the propaganda usually has the upper hand for much of the time. I think that the reality is that people in general do not want to see either Obama nor his incompetent administration for what they really are; just plain bad. There are many reasons for that but the prevailing one is that to acknowledge the truth would mean that they had allowed Obama to fool them into voting for him not once but twice.
They care about only what affects them directly. Obama Care with it's high deductibles and out of sight yearly out of pockets accomplishes that nicely.
You are correct. Our elections are nothing more than popularity contests depending on who can project the best image. Obama is proof positive people don't look at actual qualifications for the job. Obama had none.
I think you're going to get your wish on that. The woman vote will draw many more to the polls next year, than what would be the usual low turn out in midterm elections. While many are focused on the affordable care act, women are focused on the number of anti choice laws passed in the states over the last four years, as well as cuts in the safety net that effects their families, of which many are single mothers, and care givers to elderly parents.
