Well money does stand in the way, but not the way your thinking. Yes, Europe has universal health care and many can say it's cheaper. But many European countries are paying just under 50% in taxes and about seven, are paying as high as 55% in taxes. Here in America, 47% pay nothing. So money is a problem. One Liberals refuse to see.

Invest or spend without regards of how to pay for it and watch it disintegrate. You would not run your household finances like your wanting the government to do. Why? Do you Libs some how think we will never have to pay for it? Just borrow more and moe money until half our tax dollars are doing nothing but paying interest. Is that what you want?

Actually, it (money) impedes the good that would be done... in ways that we don't even know.

People are too 'distracted' about things like politics (Benghazi), to draw a bead on the reality of things.

I hope people wake up sooner than later.

The interest on our debt right now is the 4th largest outlay in dollars and that is growing larger every year.

In 2012, the U.S. will spend around $220 billion in net interest on its debt, according to the Congressional Budget Office — a figure that is expected to spiral ever higher in coming years.

Erskine Bowles, a co-chair of the president's bipartisan deficit-reduction commission known as "Simpson-Bowles," has called the nation's compound interest burden one of the biggest long-term challenges facing the United States.

"We'll be spending over $1 trillion a year on interest by 2020. That's $1 trillion we can't spend to educate our kids or to replace our badly worn-out infrastructure," said Bowles at a recent forum hosted by IHS Global Insight. "What makes it doubly bad is that trillion will be spent principally in Asia, because that's where our debt is."

Given that most Americans' financial dealings tend to be on a much smaller scale, those multi-billion-dollar totals can be enough to make a layperson's eyes glaze over. Here is a comparison of how the nation's interest spending compares to spending in other areas.

Liberals are to taken up with all the freebees they can wring out of the government without worrying how to pay for it, The debt and interest we have to pay out doesn't even enter their mind. They could care less. But all that debt and interest takes away from the good things we could do if it wasn't there.

No one can be turned away from an emergency room or county hospital either. If an emergency, no hospital can turn you away.

I may be another one soon. United Healthcare just raised my monthly premium to $1,350, up $200. They can go feck themselves.

Do you realize that by 2020 the interest on our debt will be one trillion dollars and that isn't paying down the principal on the debt. Doesn't that scare the hell out of you?

You have great difficulty with the most obvious. Medicare and Medicaid work only because they are a burden piled on top of the private health care system. Medicare and Medicaid supplies NO Doctors, No hospitals, No facilities of any hind. In fact INSURANCE COMPANIES using the CMS alias do all the billing and collecting for Medicare. Both programs REDUCE service and increase costs.

They function because our existing health care system is so good that it can carry the Medicare and Medicaid burdens at the cost of higher prices and reduced service.. obamascam eats into the heart of the present systems and is a cancer.

That's just for the wife and I, and you're right, it almost offsets my SS. I am still making some money but I'd rather be filling the tin cup. Doesn't look to be in my future.

The only one's promoting that are those on the left. Lust from the party that supports flushing the unborn down the toilet rather than letting them interfere with their sex lives, boozing, smoking, and drug taking. Greed? The oldest rule on Wallstreet is that Bears make money and bulls make money but pgs always get slaughtered. The richest guy I've ever personally known gave hundreds of thousands to charity. Jails are full of greedy, selfish bastards who think themselves and their desires take prority over everything else and almost none of them were ever rich. I'll take tose who worship money over those that worship power and/or pleasure every day of the week and twice on Sunday. They are, as a general rule, far less mean spirited and vicious.

What is this a comedy routine?

250 years of the USA and you come up with the Hoover [Boulder] Dam.

FYI, NO govt entity was involved in the construction. Private companies built the dam. Over 5000 people were employed in the building. 100 were killed on the job. NO Chinese were allowed to be used in the construction. And there were never more than 30 blacks ever on the job and none in any responsible position.

THAT is your example of successful govt? That ONE thing in over 200 years. The desperation is immeasurable.

And the liberal education system clearly shows its failures here.

I said the botched roll out will prove to be the best part of obamascam. You talk about right wing congressmen.

    Congressmen sitting on their hands?

In 2004, 05, 06, and 07, Republicans controlled both Houses of Congress. I'm CERTAIN you did not know that. Out Federal Deficits went DOWN by roughly 30% EACH of those years. Ending at $160.7 billion [NOT TRILLION] in 2007. Then Democrats took control of both Houses of Congress.. IMMEDIATELY a new record deficit was set. $458.6 billion in 2008. A 285.4% increase over 2007. And then in 2009 the Democrat deficit was $1,412.7 TRILLION. Both the 2008 and 2009 deficits were new record highs and the 2009 deficit was a 879.1% increase over the Republican deficit of 2007 and a TRILLION dollars above [ 342.3%] the highest Republican deficit in history. Additionally the Democrat controlled congress has voted DOWN obobo's budget requests EVERY year obobo has been in office. The Senate, has been Democrat controlled every year obobo has been in office and has never passed an obobo budget proposal. Bet you didn't know that either. Also the House, controlled by Democrats or Republicans has never passed an obobo budget proposal either. The legislature is not required to pass the president's budget, but they are required to pass a congressional budget if they reject the president's proposal. The Democrats in congress have NOT passed a budget proposal for 2008, 09,10,11,12,13, or 2014. The Republicans HAVE passed a budget proposal EACH year they have had the majority in the House. The Democrat Senate has NEVER voted on EITHER a Senate budget proposal or a passed House budget proposal. All this you can look up in the Congressional record. Obviously, none of it, you knew.

And this latest talk of a "Budget Agreement," is just another Continuing Resolution, not a passed Federal budget.

You liberals KNOW so much. Almost all of it 100% misinformation.

The load of crap is supplied by you.

Romney DID NOT introduce the MA health care law. You are welcome to look all the following up in the MA legislative history. Not fox or limbaugh. MA legislative history.

The congress of MA was and is dominated by Democrats for over 100 years. MA had its own type of Medicaid system and the Federal govt supported it. Then the Federals told MA they would no longer fund a one off state program. MA had to join the Federal system or lose funding. Romney said as Gov that the state had to make changes in their laws or lose federal funding. DEMOCRATS introduced into both House of MA the health care law. Romney WARNED them that he would not support many provisions of the law the DEMOCRATS introduced. The Democrats went ahead and passed the MA health care law, MISNAMED now by the left, Romneycare.

When the law was presented to Romney, as he had WARNED, he vetoed 8 of the mere 17 provisions that the Democrats passed. Many states have LINE ITEM VETO POWER. Did you know that? Do you know what that means? After approving only 52% of the law, REJECTING the individual mandate, and the employer mandate and 6 other provisions, the law returned to the Democrat controlled congress where they needed a 67% majority to overcome Romney's veto. The Democrat control is/was so strong that they did overcome all 8 of Romney's veto's. And once that was done Romney no longer had a say in the law.

This is all historical FACT! Not liberal lies.

And before the 2012 elections, MA CHANGED the law AFTER Romney left office, in 2008, 09, 10, and 12.

Romney, sadly, is a total gentleman and never rejected the Romneycare label as he certainly should have done.

Now you have one load of liberal crap removed from your head. Enjoy truth for a change.

And why does the law FORCE people to buy insurance at all? And private, for profit companies? Why does the law contain from day one, a BAILOUT of those private insurance companies. Did you know the bailout of the insurers IS part of the law?

The reality is that Medicare and Medicaid take what are, by far, the most costly demographics off the hands of the privateers and, thus, prevents their prices from being even more exorbitant.

Medicare's overhead cost is considerably lower than the profit sector's because cuts from every health care dollar are not taken to cover profit margin, stratospheric executive compensation, salaries and other employee perquisites, agent commissions, marketing, advertising, political lobbying, campaign contributions, etc. Thus, the privates' 12% overhead considerable exceed the publics' 1.3% as one would expect.

Then, there is the economy-of-scale* factor. One of the reasons all advanced nations can boast of universal, quality coverage for everyone at half the cost. The larger the risk pool, the more the cost is spread over that larger number of its members. That actuarial principle is even reflected in heavily-taxpayer-subsidized US employer administered plans where the CBO found that administrative costs were as low as 7% for employers with at least 1,000 employees, but 26% for firms with 25 or fewer employees. (For the rugged individualists that reject the taxpayer subsidized group plan and go it alone, the overhead is nearly 30%!)

    * The inverse relationship between the quantity and per-unit fixed costs; i.e. the greater the quantity, the lower the per-unit fixed cost because these costs are shared over the larger risk pool. Economies of scale also reduce variable costs per unit because of operational efficiencies (e.g., procedural standardization) and synergies.

Those who are in thrall to ideological dogma summarily reject the empirical data and the paradigms of relative success of course.

The pragmatic question that should be asked is "How do advanced nations achieve universal coverage whilst spending about half as much per capita as the US that fails to cover 50,000,000?"

    .

This you use as a source? :roflol:

    in·fra·struc·ture
    noun \ˈin-frə-ˌstrək-chər, -(ˌ)frä-\

: the basic equipment and structures (such as roads and bridges) that are needed for a country, region, or organization to function properly

Why does obobo constantly harp about the need for more taxes for infrastructure. Is it because he knows you don't know what infrastructure is. Or that you don't know we have dedicated taxes for exactly that purpose? Gasoline taxes, tolls, road use taxes, license fees, taxes on oil companies., all are supposed to go to infrastructure. How has all that money been spent?

And your lack of knowledge of how business works is not my concern. You would not listen to wise council anyway.

Less people in Israel. Also because the US Government is full of Zionists.

I'm not a Republican, I want universal healthcare, but this is not the right way. There are far better systems to emulate, and don't do what most ignorant libs do and say "Let's copy Canada" - Canada is doing what the British did 60 years ago and they don't even do it anymore, our system is terrible too.
