Then why did you reference Brzezinski? Do you actually know the facts?

Considering he was the National Security Advisor under Carter responsible for arming the Afghans.... It was in reply to rahls attempt to deflect and his obsession with Reagan.

Thanks for caring though Margot as always.

So you want to split hairs on which group is worse? They are BOTH terrorist organizations and must be destroyed. They are branches off the same Islamic tree.

This is a confusing issue for right-wingers. While hating the terrorists is important, that hatred pales in comparison to their hatred of President Obama.

    Let's reference obumer instead.

The leader of ISIS that brave men will risk their lives to kill was a US prisoner in gitmo till Eric Holder released him.

I hear you, the reality is that we have known that ISIS was ignoring the civil war in Syria and just taking territory in the north of Syria and moving into Iraq but BH Obama did nothing to stop them. At the least he could have helped the Kurds with better weapons and supplies. I think he was distracted by trouble with his back swing and trying to wreck our economy.

We don't have to use nukes, we have the "Rods from God" that we can drop from space. A very hard rod 20 feet long , 12 inches in diameter hitting the ground at 30K MPH explodes like a bomb. A big bomb and there is no radiation.

So you were against sending troops into the Middle East before you were for it?

No deflection, just pointing out the hypocrisy of the right.

Following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979, the Taliban emerged as a resistance movement aiming to eject the Soviet troops from Afghanistan. With the United States and Pakistan providing considerable financial and military support, the Afghan Mujahideen were able to inflict heavy losses on the Soviet troops. According to The New York Times, the Soviet Union lost about 15,000 soldiers in Afghanistan. In 1989, the Soviet troops withdrew from Afghanistan, and the Afghan Mujahideen, under the leadership of Ahmed Shah Massoud, surrounded the Afghan capital, Kabul, and took over the rule three years after the departure of the Soviets.

The Afghan government that was backed by the Soviet Union and led by President Sayid Mohammed Najibullah was subsequently overthrown. The Mujahideen alliance forming the new Afghan government, led by Burhanuddin Rabbani as interim president, failed to reach political unity and ended up fighting one another .

ISIS fighters beheaded a 4 year old Christian Iraqi girl. They are murdering children. This is the modus operandi to intimidate, to get their way. Leave them trembling by showing how brutal, heartless and callous you can lower yourself.

Some of the fighters are realizing they are not fighting against tyranny, they are being led by psychotics. They are afraid to get out because they know their fate would be sealed.

I think if the CIA approaches them with money and safety...we'll see a flood of human intelligence which is what is required. Human intel is what got Bin Laden.

Going in "guns blazing" without extracting valuable human intel, would be a mistake. I think our defense department is realizing this.

Even among Muslim extremists, the tactics used by ISIS are so brutal, some are disassociating themselves from the organization.

What ISIS is doing and their ultimate goal...is nothing short of genocide.

And not surprisingly, the anti-Semite attempts to justify Hamas lynchings.

he gave them guns in Libya, and he gave them guns in Syria, and I personally believe, he simply looked the other way as ISIS captured 6 divisions worth of US hardware in Iraq, basically with obamas blessing....

oh and heres the good news.....

Theyre using US gear to kill syrians.....

Al Qaida-linked Nusra rebels about to overrun Syrian air base

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland offered an upbeat assessment of the rebel advance Thursday, saying that the likely takeover of the base was a sign that the abilities of the "armed opposition" were growing. She added that the capture of the base would help the rebel side by cutting off the Assad regime’s ability to resupply its troops in the north.

ISIS armed by obama and pals.....

I was all for us pulling out of Iraq yes. However Task Force Black is a different matter entirely. TFB is fully mobile, they can pull out at any time. With this we can beat on ISIS without having to be tied to Iraq like we were when we had several hundred thousand men there. This is literally just an extended raid.

Actually you didnt point out anything. Carter started arming them. Reagan continued it. We have been arming groups for decades continuially and we are today under Obama. You just screaming Reagan and "hypocrisy" and then running along proves nothing.

There was no Taliban during the Soviet Union's involvement in Afghanistan. So your statement claiming that Reagan armed the Taliban is inaccurate. There were many factions that got arms from the US, not just jihadist fighting the Soviets. I'm not saying there was no blow back from our involvement in Afghanistan in the 80's because there was. But funding for weaponry dried up as soon as the Soviets tucked tail and ran. This predates the Taliban.

Glad to see they're following my advice.

Aircraft and commandos, not an armoured division, are the way you defeat jihadists without getting dragged into an all-out frontline war.
