Also I find it particularly interesting how people twist the definition of "evil"... to include those who think people who have lived in the US for generations and have established roots shouldn't simply be tossed out. Despite working hard and contributing.

To me, your view is the definition of pure evil quite frankly. Your moral compass is obviously beyond repair.

That's because most Mexicans don't make it to a University. They are less likely to graduate college than blacks are, and are more likely to drop out of high school than blacks. Universities are still dominated by whites and Asians. You can see the damage illegals have caused in our K-12 schools.

it's a good point, had dems prevented republicans from winning, repubs would of just went back to their games of making sure nothing gets done, we may not get everything either side wants, but we may get another couple Clinton years where stuff that needs done gets done, republicans no longer have a reason to be against things they themselves support just to make Obama look bad... cause now it makes them look bad too... as they control 2\3 of the government

But as a socialist Brit, I don't think you're really in a position to judge someone's morals.

Are the majority of illegals even in university though? I said the vast majority are from Mexico, it's your claim that the rest of the world is competing for them and they aren't here simply because of geographic convenience.

We'll get up or down votes on legislation, rather than having it sit on a desk. The Democrats risk looking like obstructionists, something they have been doing but could point fingers at the House and deflect the blame. The "war on women" meme is done, burned, and buried. Budget reconciliation only requires a simple majority in the Senate, so we may actually see budget bills moving through Congress. Republican's can threaten the nuclear option, since Reid already took a step in that direction. That threat has power though it is a double-edged sword, especially if Republicans decide to do it. This is hardly an empty win that Democrats would like it to be. Look at 2006 and see how many Democrats were ecstatic.

No but the usual form of the DREAM act is not about granting amnesty to all illegal immigrants, even though Obama is rumored to be considering that, it's about making it easier for more accomplished immigrants and harder for less accomplished ones and that's exactly what we should be doing.

You're rhetoric is quite laughable. You know almost nothing of my political, let alone economic views... but, continue to reveal yourself as a typical knee-jerk buffoon who generalises anyone who espouses a view that doesn't fit in with your rigid and ignorant belief system.

yes toss the illegals out. they are not US citizens. they are squatters taking advantage of the generosity of americans. mexico is not our friend. if they were they would not beat up, torture, and imprison US soldiers for making a wrong turn at the boarder.

you want to see evil. i suggest you take a trip to mexico. make out your will before you go though because many dont ever come back and are never seen again.

seriously though. i am not a fan of american hating brits but dont go down there.

The war on women is done?

Well regardless of what you wish to call it, Republicans continue to attract greying old white men and have trouble attracting women, those of higher education and those of ethnic and sexual minorities. Dems notoriously have turnout problems in midterms, but 2016 will be a complete reverse of what we have seen today. With TWENTY THREE Republicans up for election, including 7 from states Obama won, this slim Republican Congress is by almost ANY calculation, an extremely short lived one.

How many bills will he veto before being labeled "obstructionist"?

Cool, keep playing that war on women strategy in 2016. Please, please, do.

Americans are dumb af. For instance they voted for the republican senator in illinois that promised to lower taxes & to get rid of their min wage laws. But also they voted to raise the minimum wage and increase taxes on the rich. Like i said they are dumb as (*)(*)(*)(*).

F**k that attitude. Progressives are not your friend, they do not want to work with you, they are the enemy of everything the US stood for 200 years - individual freedom, the rule of law, equality, tolerance. Progs even hate democracy. Republicans will gain nothing by playing fair and nice and treating the progs like honest brokers, the progs will just wait them out and return the next election when they have refined their election fraud methods. Its time to play real hard ball, get a spine and destroy the progs. Cut the funding for prog staff, cut prog priveleges (like franking), cut the prog membership on committees to 30%, dont allow any progs to amend any bills, dont bring prog bills to the floor, no pork or earmarks or goodies for any prog district, cut the budget on all favoured prog organizations, slash the EPA & IRS & HHS, cut the White House budget to the bare minimum. Pols are smart, they can do this and make it look like they are doing everyone a favor. But we are talking about Republicans - and even as good as the US medical system is (at least until obolacare fully kicks in) I don't believe they can grow spines quickly enough for the GOP.

You're incorrect. I know plenty about your ideology.

    - - - Updated - - -

Lots of Brits want to see the US experiment fail, due to historical grudges. That's probably where this support of amnesty is coming from. Although they have their own invasion to worry about.

So 8 yrs later. A full blown routing of the previous flow blown routing. Hmm. Guess the power shifts. But the agenda remains eerily similar.

Does it ever occur to you that Mexicans are leaving BECAUSE of the evil down there?

The problem with people like you is empathy. The distinct lack of. Try and understand WHY they came to the United States, and respect their reality and establishment in the country they have CHOSEN (which IMO, deserves more respect when it IS by choice... as opposed to just being by birth, something we have no control over).

The US is a land based on immigration. Always has been and always will be. Of course there should be rules and borders, but it's DISGUSTING and beyond moral comprehension - in addition to being completely UNREALISTIC - to toss out tens of millions of mothers, fathers, grandpa, grandmas... of American citizens.

It's un-Christian. And (many) of you guys claim to be religious? Whatever.

Mexicans leave because the US government has been aiding the cartels and makin deals with them. Mexico is a lost cause and the americans feel guilty hence the amnesty. Its a way to make amends of (*)(*)(*)(*)ing up yet another country.

Very well said. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

It's sad to see Republicans IMMEDIATELY, upon seizing power, trying to think of ways to lose their advantage and give back to progressives, who will only see that as a sign of weakness that can later be used against them. Maybe it's because Republicans are more religious and believe more in the essential goodness of man, I don't know. Still, it's their downfall. They don't understand how progressives think and operate and how utterly nasty they can be in order to win.

Sounds like no d or r should be in power by this post. Both of them want to move forward.
Now if you want to move back to the 1800s. You have a point.

if republicans pull the nuclear, it would all be on them, Obama would be expected to veto dumb laws

now if Obama pulled a republican and started veto'g things he supported pre-republican win, then you would have a point

I think (hope) both side will get things done in a bipartisan manner now, we will see, but I think republicans will look bad in 2016 if they don't get stuff done while in control of Congress

neither side will get 100% of what they want, but I think there is plenty they can do that both can agree on

both sides need to stop putting party first and put the people first, neither party has the power to be party first

I think John Boehner wants to do the right thing, lets see if the rest of his party does too

The only way Republicans actually lose is if they buy into your doom and gloom and slit their own throats. Republicans did better than past elections among women and also among young people. Hispanics and Blacks voted strongly for democrats but Republicans won the majority Asian votes and "other" votes. Guess which minority is the fastest growing legal immigrant? It's the one that voted Republican.
