Sounds like it's worth a try. Haven't seen you on the board, lately, and hope that all is well with you.
The Best Beer From Every State From Alabama to Wyoming, craft breweries are making brews that blow the competition out of the water. Of course, everyone has his or her favorite homestate beer, and opinions differ depending on whom you ask. We asked our friends at craft beer authority RateBeer.com to help us come up with the best beer in every state. Most beers on this list are imperial stouts and IPAs, but higher ABV (alcohol by volume) beers seem to be trending in general. Did your favorite beer make the list? http://www.businessinsider.com/best-beers-in-the-us-2014-10?op=1
You post today jogged me to go back and look at your businessinsider link. That, and your picture of the sweet potato stout made me wish I had a stout in the fridge, but it's pretty bare. Just a couple of Sam Adams Rebel IPA and Magic Hat #9, so I'm sipping on a Rebel IPA at the moment. That web link also brought back a couple of old memories. 1. My wife and I visited the New Glarus Brewery when we in that area of Wisconsin a few years ago, when the cherry orchards of Wisconsin and Michigan were loaded with fruit, so it doesn't surprise me that they put out a Belgian Red with cherries in it, which I'll try to get. Another memory was when we went to visit James Lee Burke's (one of my favorite authors) home town of New Iberia, LA, which is in the Bayou Teche area, and where we visited some of the favorite eateries and other haunts of his main fictional character, Dave Robicheaux. So, Loup Garou, from Bayou Teche Brewing is also on my list. Would also like to try Tennessee Sue smoked beer. I like Kaiserdom Rauchbier, which also uses smoked barley. I enjoy it every once in a blue moon or so, and would like to try an American version.
Rule number 1. When the forecast calls for snow storms NEVER EVER EVER EVER forget to stock up on beer before it hits. Nothing is worse than being snowed into the house with no beer...
In my experience it's not at all difficult, but it's difficult to make a good beer from a kit, and the ingredients aren't cheap.
spicy cinnamon, ginger and orange peel flavors, full body with sweet malty notes of toffee, caramel and chocolate
malty with hints of lemon, good warm weather quaffer "Canebrake is crisp and smooth with a beautiful golden honey color. This refreshing American wheat style brew highlights sweet remnants of sugarcane with notes of honey, spice, and citrus on the finish. A new Louisiana tradition, Canebrake was the first commerical beer in the world brewed with local sugarcane syrup."
Had this Lazy Magnolia Sweet Potato Stout at Ahan Thai Kitchen on Rte 200, Fernandina Beach, FL tonight. Enjoyed the stout and the Thai food there. It combines a good number of interesting bottled microbrews with excellent Thai food. Highly recommend this place for beer and Thai food lovers staying near the Jacksonville, FL airport.
clear grapefruit aroma and refreshing citrus, lighter than a lot of ipa's, mild in hoppiness, with grapefruit bitterness much better than i expected and perfect for a 73 ° afternoon
Still looking for this. I think it only comes as part of a holiday 12-pack, but will buy it the next time I see it, and bankruptcy be damned!
12-pack 'winter favorites' and there's a suitcase that has the chocolate porter funny, it's nearly midnight and 69° outside
ironically, coldsnap is great in this weather, 74° outside "Stirring from the haze of winter, this refreshing unfiltered White Ale awakens its smooth wheat with the bright snap of spring spices. From the subtle sweetness of orange peel and plum to the peppery bite of fresh ground coriander, the blend of spices creates just the right refreshing kick to signal that spring is on its way." "A blend of exotic fruits & spices including orange peel, plum, hibiscus & fresh ground coriander." https://www.samueladams.com/craft-beers/cold-snap from cooler weather, a few days ago:
