All politics aside, at least remember this -- when in doubt (and it looks like there is a lot of doubt about this new strain), the world's best antibiotic, antifungal, antimicrobial agent known until about the 1920's was GARLIC. Point is, if there were suddenly an outbreak in Colorado, where I live, and everybody is running around in a panic, I'd take lots of garlic, garlic extract, and cleanse my body with it, externally and internally. You won't make many friends while you're doing this, but it could keep you from getting really sick if this strain is for real.

You are correct. The entire left wants to flood the country with illegals while only the GOP establishment agrees with them. The lefties want the votes and the GOP establishment wants the cheap labor. The rest of us with common sense just want it to stop.

 

The right has tried to pass comprehensive immigration reform. The left has refused to go along because Republicans have insisted that stopping illegal immigration must be part of that reform. Democrats will never agree to any reform that stops illegal immigration.

You make a good, penetrating point... and it is one that has more than a few of my fellow Right-wingers sputtering with weak excuses and rationalizations.

Truth (and you, rahl, more than most, should know that I do seek to adhere to the TRUTH whenever I'm sure of what it is), is that many Right-wingers have simply looked the other way about the swarms of illegal aliens that have packed themselves into this country for over 80 years, and especially since the end of WWII. Why? Truth? They worked hard, and they worked cheap! They outworked everybody else, for less money, and never complained about anything until the Mexican grape-pickers in California started raising hell out there.

To this very day there are many owners of small businesses and large ones, too, who barely even bother to go through the motions of checking to see if someone applying for a job (especially work involving manual labor, the "trades", etc.) even has a valid work permit or a Social Security number. When these owners and bosses get caught, they just shrug and protest their innocence, even though it is universally known that huge numbers of illegals make up the populations of these categories of workers.

There is plenty of blame to go around... Capitalist Republicans looked the other way and were happy to have "Pancho" and "Fernando" come to work hard for peanuts, send all the money back to their families in Mexico, and then return there themselves. Socialist Democrats saw in these illegals the opportunity to cultivate and breed their own constituency, so they made it easy for "Pancho" and "Fernando" to bring their pregnant wives, existing children, immediate family members, remote family members, and everybody else who could wander in here to do so, get on the Democrat welfare handout systems, and VOTE -- for Democrats, of course.

I curse both the go-along-to-get-along RINO Right-wingers, and the hyperliberal, America-hating, radical Democrats (like "Justice" Sotomayor). Any employer in the United States who is proven to have willfully or even negligently hired illegal aliens of any kind, from any foreign country, should be thrown in prison for at least one full year, and suffer a fine of not less than $50,000 per illegal alien hired (for the FIRST offense). As for the radical, "enabler" Democrats? They should get exactly the same punishment! Is that not fair, rahl? Is that not the truth...? It is also true that there are many more "emerging" disease strains in the Third World (especially in the warmer tropical regions) than in countries with more sanitary conditions, better medicines, etc. All of that is being imported with the illegal aliens, too. It's been well-documented....

But the dismal, miserable truth is that no one in either political party is going to stop it now, especially after Hilarity Clinton is installed in the White House. She panders to all minorities endlessly, because she needs them like the air she breathes... at least until the election is won... then she can go back to running government like a gigantic whorehouse for her "Foundation" contributors....

Wow! In over eight years that's the first nice (almost) thing I can recall that you ever had to say about my viewpoints. I must be making progress. Good! After Hilarity is elected, you're going to see a BIG change in me. I'm sick and weary of fighting "Rome", rahl.
