I'd be okay with it if the law was after 5 week abortions. After five weeks the child has developed a brain and is therefore a human being potentially capable of thoughts, feelings, and pain. Of course after 5 week abortions shouldn't happen anyways and should result in murder charges. There is no reason to make any laws in regards to the destruction of a cell cluster or uninhabited body material.
Fetal tissue does not go to "local landfills". Donating body tissue is a perfectly legal means of disposing of human remains. Since when does the state of Texas have the right to dictate that no one is allowed to donate any longer because that is the legal precedent here? The Law of Land allows for multiple means of disposal and to enforce a specific requirement that ONLY applies to fetal remains is a violation of the equal protection clause of the constitution. Either everyone must be buried or the state is guilty of discrimination. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If the state demands that a fetus be treated like a person then it must abide by the constitution when it comes to dealing with persons and that means the state cannot deny relatives their rights to determine how human remains shall be disposed of after death.
So a woman can be charged under this Texas law if she miscarries in the first trimester and flushes the toilet instead of trying to find the fetal remains and have them buried?
I don't see why we don't just leave the bodies on the highway for vultures and wild animals to feed on. I bet PETA would approve of that.
Don't worry about it. The Professor made the "choice" of taking it that way. Anyone paying attention knew what you meant.
Texas has the highest maternal death rate in the USA.. and higher than some foreign countries. Maybe those idiots ought to consider what it important and what is not.
Hillary Clinton said it was ok to murder a baby less then a week before it was born yet it is a human being, a child of god just like anyone else here. I could understand the argument if the girl was raped but I know people who would love to adopt those babies some people don't want. Murder is not the solution to this problem. If you don't want the baby put it up for adoption. I think this law Texas is putting out will actually help stop abortion or at least make women think twice before doing it. It's funny how people talk about separation of church and state. How many here with ok with "One nation under god" being removed from our schools pledge of allegiance? Yeah the left seems to want the church to have nothing in this country while keeping laws like abortion that murder innocent human beings. "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5.
No law requires you to have an abortion. Some Christians are far more concerned with fetuses than with living children or women.
So what happens when someones religion in that state is against burial or cremation? Wouldn't that make this a 1st amendment violation?
A fetus is a living person. Do you have a problem referring to a unborn baby as a living human thing? It breaths just like we do and if it could speak I am sure it would object to being murdered. Living children and women? We do not care? Really? My church works with Samaritan's Purse which donates christmas gifts to kids, animals that provide food and plants to families and communities in Africa that can't afford them. We also recently gave away a ton of free clothing which included new coats and baby diapers to people that could not afford them or needed them. Women and Children benefited from this 100%. We care about all life on this planet which includes living breathing babies inside a mothers womb.
That is true. There are no penalties for abortion. Ergo, abortion is NOT murder. At least not in America. However, it is murder in many theocratic Muslim countries. Would you prefer America to become a theocracy?
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/aug/20/texas-maternal-mortality-rate-health-clinics-funding Texas has highest maternal mortality rate in developed world, study finds As the Republican-led state legislature has slashed funding to reproductive healthcare clinics, the maternal mortality rate doubled over just a two-year period Maybe we need a law that Texas must pay for funerals for women who die giving birth.
You are forgetting the other option. The woman gives the baby up for adoption. I hope all the Libs on here have thanked their mothers for not aborting them...as the saying goes, those screaming in favor of aborting children have already been born. Lucky them...
No one can take a tax deduction for a fetus. No, it does not. There is no air in the womb. Your knowledge of law is on par with your knowledge of biology.
that which is alive is killed. The life being killed is not asked if it wishes to die nor did that life commit any crime other than what appears to be the capital offense of being inconvenient. So, to take life against will, isn't that murder?
Facts and Statistics. In the U.S. 397,122 children are living without permanent families in the foster care system. 101,666 of these children are eligible for adoption, but nearly 32% of these children will wait over three years in foster care before being adopted. If you have adopted children, I congratulate you. If not...
