    Isn't it a wonderful thing? In my opinion, the only civil rights are those deemed absolute necessities(ie: Hospitals). If someone were a jerkwad in a store, the store owner would be within grounds to kick the loser out. I think the same thing applies for everything that is essentially a privilege.(As the store owner doesn't have to sell merchandise and YOU do not have to purchase from that particular vendor.)

    However, it seems to be a challenge in 21st century America which had up until now given rights a very 'liberal' meaning(by liberal, we should say stretched beyond its definitions).

    Except the Fourteenth Amendment is vague as (*)(*)(*)(*) and justifies just about anything and everything.

    The first section of the 14th Amendment is not vague at all. Nearly every court case in the last century has ruled it to mean that the states can no more violate the protections of the Bill of rights than the Federal government can.

    But I can see why you choose to ignore the parts of the Constitution you don't like. It's very progressive if you.

    I could apply the Fourteenth Amendment to just about anything.

    Why do people refuse to see nuance. Why do people refuse to acknowledge that how a public business is handled is different than laws concerning what you do in the privacy of your own home. Why do people not understand that the laws of this country are constructed to balance out everyone's freedoms. You should have a s much freedom as possible until it starts infringing on other peoples liberties. If you only want to do sell cakes to "your kind of people", don't run a public cake shop. In this country, you have the right to shop where you want regardless of race creed or color. Should this right be abrogated too? By this stupid logic, why should a racist grocery store owner have to sell food to a black man?

    "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States"

    By all means show where that is vague. A state government can no more violate the religious rights of a citizen than the Federal government can.

    But keep trying to say "oh I don't care what states do" to try and deflect from the Rightwing's total support of violations of the Constitution when it supports their interests and biases.

    I think that store owner should be able to do business with whoever he wants. If he wants to exclude certain customers, that would allow one of his competitors to grab the part of the market that he won't cater to.

    It's called freedom of association.

    You see how (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up the Fourteenth Amendment is?

    "privileges or immunities" is pretty damn vague considering there is no (*)(*)(*)(*)ing federal marriage law to begin with so....

    The Constitution protects religious freedom. Numerous religions support gay marriage. Therefore banning gay marriage is a direct assault on religious freedom.

    And why are you lying about me in regards to illegal aliens? Is your argument so weak that you both have to lie and deflect?

    If someone claims that their religious beliefs are that races cannot eat in the same restaurant and a restaurant owner refuses to serve Blacks is that ok with you?

    I hope that congress dies pass this so called Freedom About Religion bill or Freedom Against religion bill whatever it's called because I belive in our Constitution and I want he SCOTUS to rule on it's Cinstitutionality.

    Go read section 1

    Using that language illegal aliens are exempt from US law. They're not citizens and the langauge in section 1 spicifically states CITZENS.

    I can see how important "Freedom and Protection for "ALL" is important to you, me too! Like the other day, I ran down to the piggly Wiggly to get a 12 pack of lone star beer and was told they don't stock or sell it. So I had to run down the Kroger and buy it there! So the way I see it is, PW is either prejudice against Texans, Beer, me or all of the above! So now I'm heading up a protest to picket that store because I couldn't get it where I wanted to get it and that makes me mad!

    Or does religious freedom in a Rightwing land mean "the law benefits Christians only and everyone else can (*)(*)(*)(*) off"?

    Only if you ignore the fact that anyone within US territory is subject to its jurisdiction. By of course you ignore that. Because it's a part of the Constitution you don't like. How progressive of you.
