I long for the days when news people were not such celebs. But this is what has happened to tv MSM, once the news was turned just another capitalistic enterprise, which also changed news content, moving into sensationalism and celebrity of the talking heads. Gotta sell that advertising, gotta treat it like just another business, selling something. I remember when the major networks financed their news divisions with the profits from their entertainment division, and had correspondents all over the globe. I do not see MSM as the NEWS as serious journalism. For anyone who remembers the news from the 50s and 60s knows what the real deal looks like, sounds like, smells like. We have tabloids today, but they just don't give it away with stories of humans being impregnated by ETs.
Well, I'm just a deplorable, hell I can't even read but you seem like Harvard professor material to me.
She is great example of arrogance and self importance getting in the way of reality. See ya, Megyn. There is a line of 100 women waiting in line for your spot and a month down the line it will be Megyn who? Good luck, sorry for your pay cut but you bought it on yourself.
If they think FOX viewers will follow her to NBC, I think they're in for a rude awakening. Who watches NBC?
It's weird, it's like her foolish attack on Trump turned her Vulcan or something. You think she has maybe picked up a bad meth habit or something?
Any other here who remember the grand days of TV Network News? In those days TV News Departments were relatively independent entities from the parent corporation to maintain journalistic integrity. Walter Cronkite, Huntley-Brinkly, Eric Severaid, mostly bred in the Midwest and from the Edward R. Morrow school of integrity. NBC is obviously gearing up to be hypercritical of President Trump. Every news story an editorial. PBS? BBC? All have failed to live up to journalistic integrity. We dearly need an Independent, Free Standing, News as we had decades ago. Moi r > g View attachment 47108 Forget RT, Watch the News Network. Across an immense, unguarded, ethereal border, Canadians, cool and unsympathetic, regard our America with envious eyes and slowly and surely draw their plans against us.
It will be interesting to see if Fox remains on top after she leaves, i.e. is it the message or the messenger? I always thought she was a little too full of herself and won't miss her. Slide Tucker Carlson into her spot and all is good.
^^^Prime example of libs not knowing anything about conservatives^^^ Great post Q Nerd, I love it when libs expose themselves without knowing it. That's why I'm here though. To point it out for you guys, girls, and all the in between since two genders isn't anywhere near close to enough when talking about liberals these days. You're welcome.
You think Walter Cronkite wasnt a celeb? Personally I liked Edward R Morrow Face it there is too much money is news these days. Heck I remember back in the 50s we got 2 newspapers everyday and spent much of sunday mornings reading the extra large sunday edition after church. Id always grab the comics first. Does anyone even read these rags anymore?
Ratings, it's all about ratings. She'll bring her loyal viewers with her to MSNBC, thus (the network hopes) beefing up the numbers so MS can charge a higher card rate for commercials. Depending on how much editorial control she is allowed to have you could possibly see a shift on her shows from hard left to moderate-right. If this is true, it'll be interesting to see how things unfold.
Advice to Kelly, don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out. Working for NBC should be a rude awakening for Megan. Being dictated to clearly isn't in her wheelhouse.
If the left is correct when they say Fox News watchers are dedicated to Fox News, then what viewers will follow her because it won't be the dedicated ones? I know I won't be watching her, and even if I wanted to she'll be in a time slot I don't have time to view. Is anyone actually loyal to a talking head rather than the substance of what's being reported?
Harris Faulkner could also take a prime slot. She's smart funny and extremely beautiful. (that means she's super freakin hot)
There will no doubt be some viewers who'd never leave fox news under most circumstances, but--as many in here have said--she is nice to look at; that combined with loyal viewers (those not totally committed to fox news 100% of the time) will no doubt follow her over to MS if they agree with her viewpoint.
Like Fisherguy addressing her as Miss Kelly? LOL... None of them hated Trump either until he ran for president as a Republican. The partisan line they toe is out in the open. I say good riddance, I quit watching her early last year. There aren't many Fox viewers that welcome her anymore. Hopefully Hannity moves up to her slot, or Tucker Carlson moves down to her slot. Lying left wing rag NBC should be perfect for her.
