Donald Trump plans on displaying the United States military's strength when he becomes president by having troops march in parades.

“Being a great president has to do with a lot of things, but one of them is being a great cheerleader for the country,” Trump told the Washington Post in an interview published Wednesday morning. “And we’re going to show the people as we build up our military, we’re going to display our military."


"That military may come marching down Pennsylvania Avenue. That military may be flying over New York City and Washington, D.C., for parades. I mean, we’re going to be showing our military," he continued.

Oh, absolutely. Isn't that why we have a military? For Trump to be the pseudo dictator at parades waving at them?

I mean they are there for show, right?

Trump sucks and is a baby and all that.. But on this point, I agree with him. Parades are awesome, there should totally be more parades. The people who're willing to give their lives to protect the nation deserve to show how cool they look in parades. And people need to be shown what a cool military we have. maybe that doesn't apply as much to the USA, where everyone is already aware of the military. but in sweden, we could definitely use more parades, a more visible military. quite frankly, it looks cool and i feel safer. I'm sure the soldiers think it's fun to show off too, they deserve that.

 

Nothing like a parade to make a great terrorist target - think about the Boston Bombings

 

its so we don't get ripped off in trade by countries like canada, must show them our lawful government force in plain view so they respect our authority.

America's capitalism has been paying for european socialism and asian communism for far too long.

 

I guess we should all just stay inside forever.

 

I appreciate your perspective, but aren't there more important needs to be addressed than a military parade? For instance, a scholl district that is having trouble funding educational programs. Or perhaps a city that needs financial assistance for the disadvantaged or homeless.

Military parades are a waste of money.

A simple question. Would you prefer that taxpayer money be spent on a useless display of military personnel and equipment or would you prefer that the same expenditure fund food for the poor, a homeless shelter or a shelter for battered women? And why.

Because the idea that it could be "better spent" is entirely subjective.

 

How so? How would spending money on a military themed parade be preferable to spending that same money helping the poor, the homeless or crime victims?

Of course they are. If I were in the military, I'd be irritated at wasting my time entertaining instead of defending the country.

 

If those are the 2 choices, well of course your suggestions would help more Americans, and that would be my choice. As I showed you however, those choices are already being ignored in favor of Climate Phantoms.

 

Well looks Trump learned about how to show off the military at parades while he was groveling at Putin's feet. Putin thought the Scum Turd well.

 

Screw the poor they will always be with us . Use the money to buy more military hardware. .

 

There are plenty of alternate socially redeeming programs that would benefit from money earmarked for a waste of time military parade. Would you rather flauent military hardware and personnel in a short term show, or use that money to fund long term socialially benficial projects? Basically, are you for show or substance?

We can all pick government spending we don't like and then say that money should instead go to help the poor, the homeless or crime victims instead. There are already programs for those people. I don't believe for one moment that you actually care about helping the poor, the homeless or crime victims anyway. I'll wager you have never lifted a finger to help them. Of course, you will pretend otherwise. So spare us your fake concern.
