I think they'll review this one, if for no other reason than to establish strict vs intermediate scrutiny for 2A cases.
I doubt the law could stand up to a Constitutional challenge. This is a matter among states to resolve by compacts, not the federal government to force upon them, especially in light of rulings that there is no right to conceal carry.
Works for me.... more at stake than establishing level of scrutiny on Constitutional interpretations for the 2A. It could impact a broad range of rulings, creating a huge number of unrelated Constitutional challenges .... it will be interesting to see. If Gorsuch is on the bench when the case is heard, he will be not unlike like Scalia in his interpretation... but from the opinions I have seen him author, he tends to write so any Trump can understand. I suspect the NRA and other gun rights groups would welcome the review....
Everyone's constitutional rights are the same regardless of the state they are in, as are the protections afforded to those rights by said Constitution. That's the "national policy" in question here.
First of all let's look at the state with the most laxed carry requirements. Are there people dying left and right due to accidents or Mexican stand offs? Secondly it's no more different than one state accepting driver's licenses from every other state and even from Mexico and Canada.
Sorry, but the Democrats still have a good amount of power. Give us a good bill and maybe we will vote for it. Give is a stupid bill and its toast.
Ron is well aware that a Concealed Carry permit or license requires a complete background investigation, fingerprints, through the FBI as well as other Agencies records, as well as purchases of ALL Firearms, Nobody in any State has a No Questions Asked Policy except in the Dismissive attitude of the Gun Control Club. Also, ATF form 4473 contains many Questions about many aspects of a Gun purchaser....
You have no evidence that EVERY "Shall Issue" state requires a training course in order to get a CCW. I await your evidence.
And what are the cities that outrank it? Are any of them are republican and have lax gun laws? If so how many compared to the cities that are democratic and have strict gun control.? Not only that but you only "answered" one question. I asked two. What about violent crime in general.
Which ones don't require training to get a CCW that's recognized by other states? Even Constitutional carry states issue actual licenses to allow for reciprocity. What problems have we seen with CCW reciprocity?
I have no problem with one state agreeing to review the CCW policies of another state and deciding that CCW reciprocity should be granted.
