Were sorry but there wasn't enough interest in it so instead of having a terrible tally Ryan chose to forego the vote and simply kill the bill, then they all went out for pizza LMAO

    *EDIT*
Here is where it gets really funny! The Republicans live a charmed life, and their counter parts are truly stupid! If the Dems had half a brain they would have rushed to make that bill happen and shook that monkey off their backs, but they held out and gave the GOP no support, made themselves out to be the Bill Killers and now they are stuck with a dying law :)

We were saved from our stupidity by those even more stupid, God love the Republicans!

I don't get it! President Trump wanted to scrap Obamacare, so who exactly voted against it?
Trump says Obamacare is a disaster but others seem to like it, so who's right, him or them?

No one voted, it was scrapped before the vote took place from lack of interest, no Democrat was slated to vote and the Republicans didn't have the numbers so Ryan simply canned it.

As for who is right and who is wrong, well the balls back in the Dems court and time holds that answer ;)

I wasn't snickering, I was rolling with laughter at the failure of the great Negotiator to bring about his Big Great Promise of repealing and replacing Obamacare and replacing it with a Great Great Plan within hours , his Great FAILURE...:)..

Gee, there IS more to it than just waving his scepter, pursing his DELICATE little lips and saying "great" three times while clicking his heels together :roflol: Hey , Trump, rough first weeks ??? :)

But who's fault is it all? EVERYTHING happening right now is directly related to the ACA. Republicans fixing something that can't be fixed is who's fault again? If Obama is such a genius why pass something unsustainable unless he truly didn't give a **** from the get go, knowing the press would NEVER blame him.

Oh we are laughing and mocking. Trump breaks yet another promise and you rush to his defense. Trump and the republicans are proving to be one thing, impotent.

You're probably so accustom to worshiping each and every single thing your liberal overlords do without fail that you've become unable to recognize that's not actually what I did.

You fail to mention his incompetence, which is going to be the single largest hurdle in getting anything done that affects Americans in a positive way. Although, it's not surprising to see support for this idiot eroding by the day.

Bloody hell, you've completely lost the ability to analyse things in a rational manner. How he broke the promise? Are you that blind? He is the one who tried and the others refused. So in the eyes of people who are rational he is not going to be one who broke the promise. As a matter of fact this is going to work just great for him. In a year or so the Obama care is going to collapse by itself because it's not sustainable. Americans pay about $4,400 per head a year. No other country pays more. No value for money. Who is going to have the last laugh? Guess. I'll give you the clue, orange...

It isn't conservative but healthcare is so expensive that poorer people need some help to pay for it.

I always offer this concept to explain super high costs.

Take a look at the local Ferrari Dealership. Check out prices. Why do they get $400,000 for one car?

Money rules. They collect enormous payments for the Ferrari due to people having money willing to pay.

We don't have that kind of money. To pay for doctors and hospitals can bankrupt you since most Americans don't understand saving money.
Selling Real Estate and financing homes since 1971 shows me what Americans have in cash. Most can't walk in and put a down payment on a home.

But, Money rules. So who pays Doctors and hospitals?

When you buy insurance, you do not pay doctors and hospitals. You pay the middleman. The middleman has the cash and the doctor or hospital debits the middle man.

For the guys like me, that middleman is the Feds and my state.
For the younger, it is the insurance company they pay monthly to.

What caused insurance charges to skyrocket?

I have my answer. It is for the same reason that Ferrari Dealer has those cars in his showroom. Insurance companies don't bat an eyelash paying $250,000 for heart surgery bypass. Even the Feds pay that since the money does not belong to the feds given our system of government.

Supposedly that cash paid by the feds belongs to the people. I don't buy that, but most do. I am old enough to recall this so I know it is true. Back when I grew up, my parents paid cash to the doctor. Indeed they did not have insurance at all. Doctors dealt with customers who simply lacked a lot of cash. They could not bill an insurance firm unless during WW2 the defense company had paid for insurance for workers. FDR froze wages so the rich fat cat companies needed to hold onto workers. Many workers were in combat and their wives had to work. A lot of women did not want to weld on ships. They preferred in those days to raise their children. They did not resent it until around the 1980s as I recall. Today women resent raising kids so they are happy to work. Matter of fact, growing up, most of my pals moms had more than 2 kids.

Then into the mix shows up Government. who has more cash than government? Government decided they had to be in the health care business. They invented Medicare and Medicaid. Then Bush invented pill care. Funny how the Democrats despised him over that. Frankly from what I can see, being on Plan D, the insurance companies cut prices down by bargaining with the drug firms. Plan D is a very cheap policy so somebody caused drug prices not to be super high other than for the very rare drugs for real rare illness. Those people get slapped silly. As a rule, they are also not on Plan D due to them being too young to get it.

Like Obama addressing Comprehensive immigration reform in his first 100 days or closing GITMO in the same time frame?

No, he just gave it back to your hapless inept leader, Pelosi. The old hag deserves it.

Dems football, always was. You own it. Keep it now and live with a social welfare program that will self destruct.

No support for a bad law that republicans never wanted. Trump likes to win but could care less about owning a looser. Who's stupid? Clue, it's not Trump.

You're deluded if you believe that. You clearly weren't paying attention to what was in the GOP health care bill. Nor were you paying attention to the fact that it got steadily more draconian as Trump and Ryan gave into a steady stream of unworkable demands from the far right.

In the end,the GOP bill would have essentially reset the American health care apparatus to the way it was before the Affordable Care Act.

They were giving the insurance industry everything it wanted and more.

The end product would have driven tens of millions off of any sort of health insurance. Made it prohibitively expensive for anyone of modest means to get health insurance if they lost their job, brought back exclusions for pre existing conditions, made it much more lucrative for health insurers to ration on the basis of age, and removed any minimum requirements for what a health insurance policy should cover (opening the door for the high cost, low benefit junk polices that used to be offered by companies like Wal Mart).

Obamacare is not collapsing, contrary to the right wing meme. A package of incentives and modifications designed to attract insurers to areas that are undercovered, and a push for states that had not expanded medicaid (20 of them) would insure that quite a lot more people would sign up in the next few years, stabalizing the risk pool.

The GOP bill was almost custom built to screw the very people who voted for Trump. And even many of them had figured it out.

Evidently you don't understand how your government works if you believe that.

I realize that you are merely parroting Trump's weak excuse.

The GOP promised repeal and replace. They came up with a bill that would have thrown millions off of health insurance and significantly raised the cost for everyone else (especially the riskiest).

In the end, after two days of Trump bellow and bluster, Paul Ryan went ot the White House and told the Clown Price that he didn't have the votes. When word of that meeting spread yesteday morning, people abandoned the bill in droves.

Pelosi doesn't have her fingerprints anywhere near any part of this debacle.

Of course, she could propose a package of changes to repair the ACA, but the GOP won't hear of it.

The way I see it as an outsider looking in - after over 8 years of trying to get a good health care scheme going with no success, nobody but nobody is going to let The Donald achieve it? Why should they let him - they all have private health insurance?? [IMG]

I don't think anyone is denying that the ACA has problems; not even Democrats. Bear in mind though how new and revolutionary the act was, and like anything so complex and riddled with legal nuance and bureaucratic convolutions, it'll take time to iron out the wrinkles. We've had socialized healthcare in Britain since 1947 and the NHS still suffers from problems-mostly through lack of government funding. Give it time; Rome wasn't built in a day, (as Trump has just discovered to his cost).
