BREAKING: Trump’s First Legislative Effort Fails as G.O.P. Pulls Bill to Repeal Obamacare

After seven years of campaigning by the Republicans, and 18 months of campaign promises by Trump, the repeal of Obamacare died before it even came to a vote before the House - where a simple majority would suffice. And this was only the first phase of three supposed phases. But it looks like healthcare is not only dead for now, but dead for this Congress.

There is some dispute at this point whether the idea of pulling the vote was Paul Ryan's or Trump's. My guess is that it was Paul Ryan's because he actually understood the implications.

 

And the orange buffoon was on the tube trying to blame it on Democrats, LOL.

Hey stupid, for it to pass, you wouldn't have needed any Democrats to vote for it.

 

I thought the Reps were pro life. What explains this partial birth abortion of TrumpCare?

 

We can all laugh and mock but here's the thing.

This is how government is supposed to work.

Its not supposed to be a unanimous all-or-nothing bid.

In the end the players have failed us, not the system.

Trump failed by trying to be so pushy with something so complex.

Republicans failed by getting caught up in the 100 days drama and rushing through this.

Democrats failed by opposing anything and everything Trump/GOP simply because it was Trump/GOP.

Obamacare is a ****ing train-wreck and everybody knows it specifically the Democrats who intended it to fail from the start specifically so they could continue the fight over healthcare and rack up votes.

And we're going to continue to have this disservice done to the nation so long as Democrats make the issue out to be nothing more than "free stuff" and Republicans waste time trying to win that game.

 

Obamacare is your fault. Fix it or watch it implode.

 

Trump blaming the Democrats today for not becoming Republicans for a day to rescue him and the GOP was truly a golden - ya gatta be ****ing kidding me moment.

 

I was with you until the "Democrats failed by opposing anything and everything Trump/GOP simply because it was Trump/GOP" part. After all, you did say shortly before that that It's not supposed to be a unanimous all-or-nothing bid.

Building on that, the Democrats opposed this thing as terrible legislation that would not bring us in a positive direction. So did many Republicans. I would be careful before accusing them of simple partisanship. The Republicans made no effort to come up with a good bipartisan bill here. It would be nice to see them do that.

Even funnier was the Demos trying to take credit for what the Freedom Caucus caused. So now who really showed their stupidity?

 

Trump. By blaming it the Dems.

 

There is no perfect bill. The Freedom Caucus just screwed the Nation over and at the same time. Screwed Small business and Job creation over.

All because they didn't get their way.....Now they have to pay, and will be painted out as BO care supporters. Mandate goes back in effect.

 

Not even close.....Trump knows the Demos didn't try to better anything for Americans. While they know BO care is failing and that since they are out of power they can't move it to single payer.

 

Yet we can't get a healthcare system that works for everybody. Your short-sighted view of how things are isn't helping anyone, just as your blind partisanship helps no one.

 

They've been bitching for 8 yrs and there aren't bills already written and ready to go? Can't blame this on Trump when the people writing the bills have been spinning their wheels. He just gave it the go ahead. What else could he do?

Back to the drawing board.

 

Trump loses here. He lost because he never bothered to reach across the aisle.

Trump wins here because he drew a line against the freedom caucus and the elitist koch brothers by telling them take what i am offering or you get obamacare.

The freedom caucus and koch brothers are now obamacare supporters.... what the **** is this world coming to! Lol

 

SEVEN DAMN YEARS TO FIX IT.

Seven years to put in place something that would work.

SIXTY damn times the GOP voted to repeal it - with nothing, nada, zip tangible presented as a workable solution.

Then when the GOP own everything, and IT COUNTS -- they fail miserably in a heaping trainwreck. OWN IT.

 

They are owning it......but that still leaves Obamacare failing that which the Demos created. SO Own That as it costs the country even more money and jobs.

 

Dems applauding the Reps failure to fix their failure. Interesting times.

 

Exactly....and we will be dancing on the Freedom Caucus graves. Half of them will not be returning to Congress. As the real Conservatives will make the Coch Brothers spend more than they like or want to.

They should just go for cremation and make it simple.

Well the illiberals aren't that smart to figure out the failure that was created. So they will be about mocking Trump.

 

What is best for America is for the healthcare system to collapse over the next decade. I'm sure Trump is happy to get out of it. C'mon, get real. Don't you think they would have fixed it to 1970's standards if they could? Dems failed Reps failed.

Boys and girls, there is no fix for American healthcare other than full socialized healthcare or part socialized and the other half of the healthcare equation is keep what we got.

That way it will cover poor to middle class under the socialized and the rich can use our current system.

 

How so......the Freedom Caucus voted for these measures when Harry Reid was still around and they knew it wouldn't make it to BO peeps desk. Now they had a chance to get rid of BO the peeps special package and they bail supporting BO peep and the Demos.

 

Don't give me that. You just shifted the blame.
