    I've heard that God doesn't like the EU, or Globalism, and God wants nations.

    I heard that God didn't want everybody speaking Japanese or German because their are people who don't want to speak Japanese or German.

    I've heard the EU parliament was modelled on the tower of Babel, and is like a new Rome.

    I first heard of Herbert W Armstrong back in 1967. While some of his teaching and those of his son had some truth, both turned out to be charlatans. Among their many bogus claims was the lunacy of them claiming to be able to heal the sick and raise the dead. I actually challenged both of them to open debates on the merits of their bogus teachings but neither accepted my offer. His son later left the cult and became a preacher in a Texas church. In all my years of observing TV evangelist types, I have never seen anyone more filled with hate and anger than Garner Ted Armstrong.

    True..... GTA did have a lot of anger........
    we did feel far too superior over the majority of other churches......
    that really was our greatest downfall........
    We were close to "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" in our ideas on how
    great we were doing in comparison to other more mainstream churches......

    You have the honesty that they lacked. There were several instances in which I clearly and unequivocally proved that their teachings were in error. But they lacked the honesty and the humility to admit to their faults. As the Bible says, there are many antichrists and the WWCG were clearly among them.

    I feel I was guided to see through the "soul sleep" doctrine first......
    after that our boasting and pride became more and more obvious.

    What does the name Israel mean?
    Why is there a passage in the Taurat the states that there are those who oppose His plans?

    Israel generally means the Northern Kingdom of the ten tribes of Israel who were at war with the tribe of Judah, Levi and Benjamin in the time of Isaiah.

    Isaiah 7:1

    "And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it."

    Israel means "overcomer with G-d" if I remember correctly.

    Because to at least some degree...... although I do attempt to get closer to G-d.... I suspect that I am unwilling to go along with perhaps over eighty if not ninety percent of what G-d would like to do through me. I am not the most ungodly person on earth..... so most humans oppose G-d even more than I do.

    I assume that His means YHWH/ Hashem/ The G-d of Abraham, creator of heaven and earth who led Israel out of Egypt.

    All of us to some degree oppose G-d because we are selfish, cowardly, we lack faith, we are insecure and have something of an inferiority complex. We cannot imagine how good the plans of G-d are for each of us.
