Then you would be very wrong. And many early societies practiced infanticide when there was little or no food availble https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infanticide_(zoology) http://discovermagazine.com/1996/sep/firstkillthebabi864 There is cultural infanticide as it was practiced in India and China http://www.bbc.co.uk/ethics/abortion/medical/infanticide_1.shtml Infanticide in Nomadic cultures https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infanticide And that is not even starting to touch how many used abortifacients and natural contraceptives
What turns an anti-abortionist into someone who actually cares about the health and welfare of the children they want to impose on women?
This is what you're referring to? """Boyfriends... .husbands, parents and grandparents of young women are virtually forcing expecting mothers to have an abortion or two or three...... almost against their will......... Many young women would love to have a bit of legal protection for the foetus to fall back on... .so that their boyfriends and family can't put so much pressure on them......"""" Where are the "facts"? Women are protected from people who want to FORCE them to do anything, whether it's get an abortion or have a kid... The fetus needs no protection from others since the woman has the protection.. If a woman feels like some sick control freak is forcing her to do either she can get protection........
I agree with Sister Joan Chittister! She is correct....... which is one of the reasons why I am also interested in economics and history. Best explanation for Weimar Republic Inflation I ever read....
We have that now. It is called a sperm donor. The same rule should apply regardless of how that sperm was donated. Those wanting to bring a child into this world should sign some kind of form certifying that they want to do so. Whomever's name is on the form then has the financial responsibility.
If the financial obligations of fatherhood were enforced more consistently there would be quite a few mom's who would feel less pressure to have an abortion.
We have some of the toughest enforcement laws in the world. And some of the most unfair to men. Men should have no financial obligations for a child they did not agree to. Just as a sperm donor is not responsible for the child created from his sperm. A man having sex with a woman (another method of donating sperm) should not be responsible for what she does with that sperm. Unless of course there is an agreement in place that they are wanting to have a child together. This would stop many children from being born into disfunctional environments because women would think twice knowing they had to bear the full responsibility of there unilateral choice to create a child (carry the pregnancy to term) out of an unintended pregnancy.
I disagree..... I was taught that sex is a blood covenant...... in my opinion........ we guys should be less willing to get somebody pregnant...... and much more willing to be a dad if and when it does happen.......
You having that belief is just fine. There is nothing wrong with having that belief. The problem comes when you want to force your beliefs on someone else. Obviously this is a religious belief so ask yourself this question "what did Jesus say". The rock on which the teachings of Jesus are based is the Golden Rule - "Do unto others/Treat others as you would be treated". Matt 7:12 "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets". This rule Sums up the entire Law and all the teachings of the prophets ... so, if you profess to be a follower of Jesus .. then you should figure out what this teaching means. Jesus restates this rule many times (gives many examples). Judge not lest you be judged, Let ye who is without sin cast the first rock, Take log out of own eye before picking speck out of brothers ... and so on. This rule was part of Hammurabi's law code (1800 BC). Buddha and Confucius stated this rule. This rule is part of the "rule of law" and is the main principle on which the USA was founded. There is a difference between 1) having a belief, and 2) forcing that belief on others through physical violence (making a law is using the threat of physical violence in order to force your belief on others). If you do not like alcohol - don't drink. Understand however that you not liking alcohol is not justification for forcing others not to drink. If you do not like abortion - don't have one... but, do not try and force your personal religious beliefs on others through physical violence (by agreeing with a law). Remember the Golden Rule. If you do not want others forcing their personal or religious beliefs on you then do not do the same to others.
I am actually divorced twice..... both of my ex wives attempted to strangle me........ (quite enthusiastically I might add).......... at that point I felt free to separate from them and divorce them..... because I really didn't know when they might be back with a baseball bat...... knife.... or gun. In my opinion women are perhaps the greatest of all G-d's creations......... having unprotected sex with one of them...... is not something that should just be taken lightly.......... Most women would like to see most men take sex somewhat more seriously....... There are of course a certain number of women who would feel differently...... especially after some guy that they don't like all that much gets too attached?!
Baloney!...financial support from a man is the least reliable support .... That's hardly the only reason women do or don't have kids...
...and you were surprised ? So "protected sex" is OK? You have no idea what "most women" want.... Irrelevent.
I was taught that sex is supposed to be between married people. I rejected that teaching because it does not make sense to me. Why should someone have to have a piece of paper to do what comes naturally? I agree with Giftedone that men should be able to choose to not be a father, as long as the woman and child are not on public support.
Young pregnant women tend to be facing the difficulty of being unable to work......... Interesting how you would fail to notice that fact.
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10155161571218728 Love it! This adorable video of a preemie with her dad will be sure to make you smile. Video by Anthea Jackson-Rushford
Oh? I have always pointed out how pregnancy can actually cost women their jobs, how pregnancy can cause them to miss work......where have you been? That's an excellent reason to get an abortion....
I have been distracted on other forums and groups.... especially Facebook...... but I do prefer this forum due to the ability here to make it clear when I am quoting somebody.
I didn't mean physically in the present where you have been, I don't care. I referred to your post : """""DennisTate said: ↑ Young pregnant women tend to be facing the difficulty of being unable to work......... Interesting how you would fail to notice that fact.""""" And I responded :Oh? I have always pointed out how pregnancy can actually cost women their jobs, how pregnancy can cause them to miss work......where have you been?""" Asking why you haven't read my many posts on how much pregnancy affects women. I STILL haven't seen any "brilliant" pro-life (Anti-Choice) arguments....I haven't seen any even barely slightly good arguments coming from the Anti-Rights side...
Why should a man be able to abandon his child? He knew when he had sex that if a child was conceived he would be responsible as did she.they. They both knew there could be consequences
I am somewhat pro-choice......... but mostly pro-life........ and I now know that I have permission to make an anti-feticide bill a part of my campaign platform for the PPC nomination here in Central - Nova. http://www.politicalforum.com/index...-m-p-bill-casey.539570/page-2#post-1069776546 Andrew Scheer, I am willing to take on either M. P. Sean Fraser or M.P. Bill Casey. https://www.facebook.com/hon.maximebernier/posts/10156707965828703 Which pretty much answers my own question to Conservative leader Mr. Andrew Scheer from August 13, 2018:
