If I let you drink your own poison, of your own free will; is it your fault or my fault?

There is a lot that is wrong with Obamacare and even democrats agree with this. The problem is that the solutions offered by Republicans are very unpopular and only 30% support Trumpcare and repealing Obamacare. Why not instead propose a bill that everyone can agree on? For example, Obamacare is losing insurers. We can allow more flexible plans and cheap very basic plans, and we can also allow insurers to charge the prices they want which is currently restricted under Obamacare. This will mean more affordable plans and more insurers and they will be better able to make a profit. Letting Obamacare fail will hurt many lives and I would rather see common sense bipartisan solutions than political stunts.

It is Barrack Hussein Obamacare! He is responsible for government intrusion into 30% of the economy which is healthcare. Once Santa puts presenents under the tree it is extremely difficult to take the away. That is what we are experiencing. Pelosi said pass the bill to see what's in it. Democrats voted lockstep. They are not individual thinkers like Republicans. They have become a collective like the ideology, Marxist Socialism, they embrace. Control healthcare you control the populace!

So are you for free market solutions? Are you for subsidizing those that will not pay for healthcare until sick?

I am for both government and free market solutions, but what matters most here is that we need to fix the problems with Obamacare in a bipartisan way because people are on the line here and they sent Republicans to Congress to fix Obamacare not to just give up and let it start hurting people.

Obama forced the youth who are not ill to buy insurance from insurance firms. Then the fix was in. The insurance firms then hiked prices and deductibles to such a high level, the public is mad. And Democrats won't solve the problem and keep blocking all solutions.

The repeal bill of 2015 is the fix that Republicans were sent to Congress for. There is no other plausible fix.

The law began to fail virtually the instant it became law. This is why the public has been complaining loud and long. Why keep a failed law?

IMO, the plan will let it unravel. And in a desperate move, install Universal Health care.
They will have to do something as Insurance companies go out of business or insurance costs become so high, only the 1% will have it.

I'll tell you how. Did you ever see Obama sit in his office with a bunch of pens willing to sing the ACA?

More likely you would have seen him talking to people in Congress, on TV explaining the benefits (I know I know... he messed up with the "keep the doctor" bit... but everything else came to be), going on Fox to debate it, attending the Republican Caucus to answer questions, writing op-eds, negotiating, convincing people, moving, working, making it happen.... for over a year. That's what a real leader does. A failed leader will just sit in his office with a box full of pens waiting for the bill to "magically appear" on his desk.

Actually, this could backfire on Republicans. Think about it, what has led the Republicans their rise to power since 2010? Repeal and Replace Obamacare. That was the narrative in 2014, then again in 2016. To simply let Obamacare fail is Trump taking the cowards way out, and the Republicans in the House and Senate are basically ditching the golden promise they have created over the past seven years.

Legislation isn't done by Congress anymore anyway. He appointed Gorsuch, that's all that matters.

The problem with that bill is that it is even more far right than Trumpcare because it repeals everything. Moderate Republicans will like this even less and this was already proposed but moderates killed it. The best fix is to target the bad things from Obamacare and take them down one by one. Plus only 23% of people and only 50% of republicans want to repeal and replace and the rest want to fix Obamacare.

It fails under his administration, it will be laid at his doorstep and all fingers will be pointing at him. He made a promise to his base and now he is reneging on that promise. Republicans will be ousted in 2018, if they can't get their act together.

LOL....FAIL. Trump will be blamed. People care about the now. It's why Bush was blamed for Osama, and Obama was blamed for Bush failure. His base will only remember the promise Trump've made but FAILED to deliver.

I just don't see how you have free market when government mandates and controls. The only fix I see to Obamacare is single payer as was it's original intent. This is why we have no bi-partisan co-operation. It is oil and water. Wealth redistribution is a form of slavery ( making some work to benefit others) Now I do understand a degree of regulation is in order and all insurance companies must play by the same rules ....but the more the better.

Everyone refers to it as "Obamacare" it has his name on it. It is his brain child. It fails because government left to it's own design ALWAYS fails.

Single-payer simply isn't possible with Republican majorities and even a lot of democrats being opposed to it. If we give insurance companies more freedom to set the plans and prices they want that will greatly improve the situation and we will see a lot of them return. That is probably all we can manage for now.

they made the promises and they are responsible for keeping them. They can't blame the party who is not in power, for their inability to come up with a plan that can win enough votes to keep their promise. All Dems have to do is sit there and wait and watch.
