http://www.patriots.com/patriots-2017-free-agent-tracker not sure why players are willing to leave as winning the Super Bowl leads to commercial endorsements and higher earnings
Many players leave a team after they get a ring. It's normal. Players have to leave every year. There's only a 53 man roster. After you win a Super Bowl, you think to yourself, Ok I have the ring, now I want that MONSTER contract. Also, all those that departed in your link, that happened months ago.
The QBs are usually the only team members to stay with the same team, although the Pats have had a few "lifers" too, like Tedy Bruschi (who I miss SO much - he was one of my favorite players!) What a phenomenal player he was.
Going to miss Nink. I'm actually worried about the leadership on defense now. Nink is a true leader and his contributions to the D were incredible. Great work ethic. He will be missed.
Yea but Eli isn't considered an elite QB now though. He did luck his way into a couple of SB wins but people consider Flacco more elite. However, the giants offense looks really stacked this year receiver-wise. Evan Engram will be a big weapon at TE/WR
Eli is what is called a "pure passer" & just cannot roll out of the pocket the way most modern day QBs do. Because of that he is vulnerable to a good pass rush, especially a safety blitz. Jints have not picked up a good blocking FB like Maurice Carthon in order to give him more protection and he has gotten belted because of it. While he may not be the greatest QB in history, he does have two Super Bowl rings unlike about a dozen who are in the Hall of Fame without a ring.
I'm not reading this entire thread...So if this has been posted already, enjoy it again, if it hasn't...You're welcome.
I remember deep in the 3rd quarter that's exactly what me and my brother said to each other "Ok dude, we only need a field goal, two TDs and convert them. No biggy. Brady can handle this".
I am eternally optimistic, but I was having serious doubts myself, I just hadn't admitted it yet. Thankfully I never had to resolve that internal conflict. Thanks, Brady!
Robert Kraft gave Tom Brady's mother her own Super Bowl ring. Solidifying Brady's importance to the organization. http://blog.masslive.com/patriots/2017/08/new_england_patriots_give_tom.html
Me too! I'm glad I selected to record an hour longer in case of OT. I can't stop watching Brady hoist the trophy up and tell everyone that he's bringing it home to boston.
pfft the best message was the unspoken one but you could read it in the smiles. Kraft, Bill and Tom also basically flipped off Roger. I hope they get their 6th as we watch all the haters come up with excuse after excuse
Really? I was like NO WAY are they going to be able to pull this off. I think we lost this game, and then BAAA BOOOM! Party time!
