WHAT on earth are you talking about? Uber? What does Uber have to do with anything this is about people and their cars having to invest in a huge upgrade in their home electrical service and of course what huge increase in amperage usage is going to cost.

    Woa woa thar big fella!

I was expanding on a thought man.

Trying to look on a bright-side & such!

The drag bit about home-charging has been being talked about since, well, forever!

Fuses or circuit breakers, which can be blown, is of no matter. The system will have to be upgraded to handle the capacity whether fuses or circuit breakers.

Oh yeah, over loading a circuit is the best argument you have for criticizing electric vehicles. :)

Über drivers could act as ferries in urban/suburban hubs.

Well if that circuit in someone's home is blowing what does that mean? Did you not read what the National Grid said and is telling owners what they must do?

The solution is to have a separate electric account and hookup in the garage. Then you can run your household full of appliances and still get your electric car charged up for morning.

I mean, to put it a bit clearer, if the Gubmint gives you Lemons, squeeze those suckers to your benefit.

I have a '70's Sansui integrated amp as my main amp in my studio. The power transformers and capacitors are HUGE and it weighs a ton and sounds sooooooooooooo sweet. Lots of onboard switching and EQ. When it ever dies I will cry!

You do realize circuit breakers have ratings and service boxes have ratings and wiring has ratings and the higher the rating the more they cost?

The best argument are charging times, battery replacement costs, and where do you get one when it dies in the middle of nowhere? Oh, and Every time you recharge it the battery gets weaker and weaker. Now tell me why I would want one.

Keep that baby, the stuff from the old days sound darn good. I had a 50 watt Marantz amp dating back to the 60's. Never shoulda sold it. Is your Sansui tubes?

Well it means another RWer isn't savy enough to not over load a circuit.

This is what I had when I lived in CA. Both pairs of speakers are gone but I still have the electronics and a pair of electrostats. MVC-725S.JPG MVC-726S.JPG

Yeah, and the internal combustion engine is maintenance free. BTW, if your internal combustion engine dies in the middle of nowhere, how is that different than an electrical engine. :)
