He was president when Kaepernick was crying over not starting and kneeled during the Anthem. He was busted and claimed it was for black equality, which has absolutely nothing to do with our Anthem, but the idiots ate it up.

Everyone in Hollywood and a lot of people in sports were against Trump from the beginning. When he won the election, they exploded just like all the average Joe liberals. Now a basketball player whines about going to the White House so Trump revokes their invitation and they blow up about it. He tells fans of the NFL to walk out if the players don't stand for the Anthem, the team owners and some players blow up. If it wasn't from Trump, nobody would think twice.

How about those elections in Germany yesterday? I heard from my friend there that AfD got into the Bundestag and did so as the 3rd strongest... 2nd strongest in Eastern Germany... Conservatives are growing all over the civilized world...:thumbsup:

Nonsense. The great majority of the fans, the owners, the league, the union support the players and boo Trump.

A jobs a job and an employee is an employee. These players are men with jobs, not gods to be worshiped.

Curry was not going. Trump had been disrespected so he closed the door after that horse left.

Politics have always been a part of sports ie. Jack Johnson, Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, Bill Russell, etc.

Since the Kaepernick stunt, ESPN's ratings have been plummeting. Not sure if you knew, but they had to fire hundreds of great on-screen personalities because of the ratings.

Glad I was able to clear up your confusion

Why do some folks demand a demonstration of hypocrisy before they can thrill to the spectacle of large, sweaty men risking chronic traumatic encephalopathy?

    As I had noted elsewhere,

A ship in distress flies Old Glory upside down. It is not meant to be, and is not officially recognized as any type of disrespect when so displayed for the right reasons.

In the era of trumpery, it is entirely appropriate for players, coaches, officials and fans who are so disposed to assume this posture for the ant hymn:
Nevertheless, it is a personal expression, and we would not want anyone being pressured to conform who does not endorse the implied message.

That would be to demand a display of insincerity, and what's the value in that?

If viewership and game attendance drops by 10% watch player contracts be "renegotiated". The NFL might be huge and the monies involved impressive but at the end of game day they are just another business living on a margin.

Yes - many refer to it as MSESPN.

All we need is one owner to issue a rule that players must stand and be respectful to the national anthem and flag as other leagues require. It would be interesting if there were a situation like the NHL where both the Canadian and US national anthems are played. Would players kneel for both or stand for the Canadian anthem thus showing more respect for Canada than those in the US who have died for their country and opportunity to become millionaires playing a game.

To be fair, ESPN has also been getting rid of hundreds of their employees, including some big names as well.

Pathetically disingenuous. What are players protesting ... salary caps?

Ali did indeed bring politics into boxing but boxing was and maybe still is the dark underbelly of the sports world with rigged fights run by the mob. Frazer took a dive. Football is following that path now with these gang banger thug players and politics on the field. The NFL may be heading into Oblivion with boxing.

They are protesting rare instances where a police officer shot someone who didn't deserve it. In reality, they protested the officer who had to shoot Mike Brown, who was trying to kill the cop.

They have no idea what they are protesting.

They are using their voice and status as public figures to make statements on behalf of those who do not get the same exposure and, more specifically, for those who were killed without retribution or justice for the person who committed the homicide.

What was done to Ali had nothing to do with the mob.

    Frazier took a ass whooping.

You mean with all the black players on the field, is Tom Brady a thug? He is the face of the NFL.
