Can you name names of protesting players who have beaten up their wives or girlfriends? Why do you think because they have money they can't care about something?

When the Military Guard comes out with the flags to do the anthem and you take a knee that's exactly what their doing and that's the whole problem. You don't take something that's inclusive and use it as a divide to prove a racial point. If you do this is what you get, I don't support police brutality against anyone, I don't support racism in any form. I argue against kneeling and some act like I'm and Trump for that matter is now racist somehow for supporting the freaking national anthem. It's a straw man argument designed to divide and has no place in sports.

Now you got LeBron out there popping off, are you kidding me dude? That boy has had a team of PR guys with pockets of cash following him around since he was 14 years old and he's calling out the President. Just shut the heck up and play the game that your paid hundreds of millions to play, you haven't had a hard time since you were going through puberty. KEEP POLITICS OUT OF SPORTS there is no place for it.

That's not truthful. Many received draft deferments during the Vietnam war times.

Nice job - again the lib progs respond by accusations of racism to anything resembling deviation from the party of goodness demagoguery.

He was rich. Able to afford a doctor who claimed he had bone spurs. Able to meet with the Senators and other government officials who would approve said deferral.

You qualified it as protesting players. I never said it had to be just them. I think NFL fans have read a lot about players beating up wives and girlfriends. Sure, if you will trust my sources, I can show them to you. Also an NFL black player brutally murdered some people.

What makes you suppose I believe having money means one can't care about something?

I am 79. I had seasons tickets for years to the Raiders in Oakland. The team never embarrassed themselves by such mockery of the American flag and anthem. I would have refused to go to their games had they did that. We did not suddenly just get cops. Cops have long had the dirty job of dealing with crazy people, murders and robbers. I respect cops. Clearly the players do not.

Clinton did it the easy way. He fled to England.

I wager that most of we who got drafted applaud those able to get deferments. I never resented them for legal deferments.

The induction center had doctors who examined all of us. Trump had to be examined at the induction center.

In other words you've passed the lib prog test by going to the knee jerk racist accusation reaction mode in a shorter period of time than it takes from the light to change and the driver behind to beep his horn.

They thought the same thing when the baseball players went on strike in 1994. I doubt it will kill the NFL but it will put the skids on any raises in salary for quite a while.

Preliminary TV ratings for Sunday's games down from previous year

The ratings are down, Pharmaceutical companies have already pulled out worth $50 million a year. Good luck next year. ;)

I actually never went back to going to baseball games after that. It is somewhat not fair in the current situation that the actions of ~ 15% of the players are causing damage to the entire league. Having said that it is the burden of the NFL and it's team owners to create rules which preserve respect for the country by respecting the flag and anthem. Other league do it. The NFL should have the courage to do the same. Those players who don't comply can be replaced as was done in baseball.

    https://www-fars.nhtsa.dot.gov/Crashes/CrashesAlcohol.aspx

Fatalities in total crashes have dropped significantly when measuring per 100,000 drivers or miles driven. Alcohol related fatalities hover like glue to 30% of total fatalities over the last 24 years. Dui arrests have risen dramatically.

The rates are the same, lock step. Vehicle fatalities have dropped at the same rate for both non alcohol and alcohol related accidents.

Total auto accidents have remained about the same, a slight drop.

Air bags save lives (big change). Safer cars save lives. Safer roads save lives. The other big one, we're getting vastly improved trauma care much much quicker.

    Cheers

...and that didn't refute a word of my post you quoted:

    FoxHastings said:
...and rich thanks to all who support them , paying any price to see them play. :)

...and nothing will stop football, it is a god to some and even Trump supporters will NOT give up their football.....NO one will give up football enough to have any impact :)

OOOH, ratings are down...BFD......NO one will give up football....oh, a few diehard-grumbling-under-their-breath Trump supporters may but I bet even Trump doesn't give up watching foot ball :)

It's hardly time to panic....there's been so many scandals in pro sports and they just keep rolling along.......

Baseball is still here and players make lots of money :)

And ad rates are based on ratings, i.e. number of viewers per game. Allowing disrespect for Americans who have died defending the flag will cost the NFL and its players money.
