So Trump starts saying "he's not a war hero", then sarcastically says "he's a war hero because he was captured", then ends with "I believe, perhaps, he's a war hero." So there's a clear contradiction between beginning and end. Why do you think that is?

 

That's not the full exchange. Trump (regardless of how you sarcastically spin it) truly believes that McCain is a war hero.

 

I have never said that the NFL and the team owners can't fire these players if they wanted to. The crux of the matter is the President should NOT inject himself in this discussion essentially encouraging the team owners to do so, all the while using his dirty mouth to insult. As the defender of the Constitution, he is negligent of his duty. He should at least be censure for his idiocy in speech and on Twitter.

 

So why does he start with "He's not a war hero"? Feel free to quote the larger context that changes the impression of his words.
