Well.....I knew that would get the Iranian apologists all in a tizzy.

Its not an extreme concept. They just don't understand about......you get what you give.

Maybe if we left Germany alone long enough Hitler would have died

Apparently the "Arab Spring" was but a late winter shower. Now we have the nasty blizzard return....eventually it will be summer.

    Brutal winter though.

Something I finally agree with. Constant threats to a country just causes the populace to get behind their leaders. Iraq was very westernized until the first gulf war and the following sanctions. Iran is in the way to becoming very westernized.

Iran was Westernized long before the first Gulf war. Haven't you ever been there?

George Bush compared Saddam Hussein to Hitler for months and months before he invaded Iraq. Do you want to invade Iran?

I am not so sure if Iran is who we say it is. I could be wrong, but from what I know it is not in our interest or business to keep attacking and destroying nations.

No but I don't want to leave them alone and just hope they go away as you suggested.

A war on Iran would be far worse than our 10 years in Iraq. Iraq was crippled by two decades of war and sanctions in 2003.

There is something between full on war and sticking your head in the sand. We need to harass and obstruct and push Iran at every opportunity and this armada they our sending to the gulf is the perfect opportunity to do so. We should send them home with their tails between their legs licking their wounds and asking the famous question from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid, "Who are those guys"!

I don't think so.. Trying to provoke Iran is not a strategy. Remember that if Iran closes the Straits of Hormuz they also hurt themselves.

Kinda like America and the "Great White Fleet" back in the day.

It is just a sign that Iran wants to be more of a world power, that's all. Their military is still incredibly weak when compared to most of the world and if they did anything their navy would be reduced to .... well it would be sunk, very quickly.

But it is just posturing, that's all. You will noticed however that when America did it we at least TRIED to make it look like a peaceful action by painting the ships white with "stars N stripes" so they were easily seen and not thought of on a war footing.

It is all just artistic rhetoric. The rear admiral is supposedly going to sail into the Mexican Gulf and wave an Iranian flag at the US then sail out. Bit pointless given that the Gulf is huge. There is no real intention of sailing anywhere near the Gulf. If anywhere, they will sail in the Southern Atlantic which they may have done so in the past

It is the way that the Middle East operates. It's a form of poetry that is not to be taken literally. Quite common form of speaking in that area

I think this sudden excursion into the gulf of Mexico is about Venezuela. Under Chavez Venezuela became a major transshipment point for narcotics headed for the US, involving FARC and Hezbollah.

CIA head says ‘Iran, Hezbollah & Russians’ involved in Venezuela, pose ‘risk’ to US

    https://www.rt.com/usa/399501-cia-pompeo-venezuela-hezbollah/

It's what Hezbollah do, infiltrate, destabilise, seize control and Venezuela is now ripe for the picking.... watch your back America
